Brian needs to let his guard down more on screen like he did on ITT

I was immediately more drawn to Brian once he showed he wasnt just a razzle dazzle showman. Watching the ITT interview for the first time I felt we were seeing the real person and as a viewer you instantly connected more. I know on the glossy american version of the show its all front and bravado but that doesnt sit so well in the UK.

The public will vote for Ali and Brian more if the main show shows some of what happened behind the scenes on Saturday and some of the ITT interview. I think Ali's adorable and has come across well but its only now I feel I want to vote for them and thats partly due to Tuesday's ITT.

He was very kind to Heather. It's hardly as if he has previously come over as some unyielding character. I thought he seemed a kind gentle man from the start!

Seeing him talking about James on ITT, I liked him for the first time.

I preferred Brian last year. He was so good to Heather. Utterly charming.

I think he feels more pressure to do well this time round because he has a gifted partner. He's quite intense.

It's understandable I guess.

I still think he's a gentleman and choreographs exciting routines.

But his partnership with Ali isn't really grabbing me as much as I had hoped.

I agree. I thought he showed more personality last series. I think Ali's fab and I'm still fond of Brian but I agree with you that he seems much more intense this series.

One of his memorable dances for me is his Salsa with Heather, excellent choreography and a good partnership.

So do I. He's by far and away my favourite of the "new" pros.
Didn't like Hayley nor the one who's dancing with Matthew. And cant abide Krystyna.

That is eaxctly it. I adore Brian, and Ali is sweet, but their partnership is not that exciting or engaging. It should be, especially if they are more than friends, but Brian is too serious this year, and seems a little hard on Ali sometimes. He was so lovely with Heather. Maybe he is just a really good teacher and adjusts his approach depending on the celeb's ability and personality. And maybe if they are in a realtionship, he feels he can be a bit tougher. You do, don't you, with someone you are shagging. There is more feedom of speech and attitude, because the relationship has a unconditional level.

And I do wear knickers, you cheeky swine.

Sid - I totally agree! I really liked Brian last year - he was lovely and supportive to Heather. He DOES seem far more intense this year - like you say, probably because he's got a talented partner. But it does put me off him a bit.

I'm not feeling Ali and Brian's partnership - even if they are an item - it's still all a bit insipid. There's no doubt she has talent but she's a bit of a wet lettuce.
