Lost just BBC1/2/3 ???

Hi

Sorry to post a similare thread, but unsre if my problem is Transmitter related or my TV set tuner.

I have a digital tv Sanyo CE28DFN2-B model which is a few years old. It has the integrated digital tuner and the older CAM/Module slot at the rear, of which this isnt occupied.

I have had no problems with channels and signal sine I moved into my flat in June. I have a communal aerial on my roof which serves just my flat and the one above. It is a full digital install with 2 main uhf feeds, and also has a uhf/DAB aerial on the same mast.

My transmitter is Winter Hill, and get good coverage with the signal strength being 75% plus via the tv menus.

Since the change over switch today I have retuned and lost what I believe is the MUX 1 which houses BBC 1/2/3 etc and believe it has also changed frequency to 62. I can get 67 which is BBC 4 no problem.

My tv menu offers me a channel scan auto which I did but lost this MUX. I reset to factory settings so no digital channels. I confirmed WH transmitter as no BBC2 analogue signal. Retuned digital again from factory settings but still cant get MUX 1 - UHF 62.

I have read through the manual for the TV but it does not offer a manual tune or uhf enter option to tune.

Can anyone help??

Unfortunately it sounds like your tv can't handle the new 8k mode.

A new Freeview box should sort things.

typical

was hoping that my tv wouldnt have to have another remote lol.

luckily i have freesat setup via same tv unit which is fine, but doesnt have sky news can u believe.

i have a spare STB in the bedroom on Moel Y Parc transmitter using a booster indoor aerial, but missing a few channels there nothing major though.

Seems this government idea of digital tv is proving costly for many people.

Shame we cant recycle the tv or change the tuner rather than get a new stb.

You could try contacting Sanyo to see if they plan to send out any over air software upgrades over the next few months.

Our 8 year old Sony IDTV is like that too. Tried tuning into Channel 62 and all I get is 'Cannot tune into selected service' error.

Wish they'd thought about this 8k mode back in 1998 when Digital Terrestrial was launched. Have really lost all faith in Freeview, just glad with have Sky+

I'm sorry to hear about the above problems. Would not a modern cheap Freeview box from the likes of Tesco or Argos plugged into the TVs help to solve these issues?

This could be your problem.
If the system uses band pass filter then c62 will be filtered out .
Try using another aerial or at least check to see if there are any band pass filters installed.

Sanyo tv

I'm afraid it's your tv, it doesn't support 8k, It's listed on this site.

Can't you tune to Sky News in the "other sat" mode? AFAIK it is FTA, just not part of the Freesat EPG setup. Just as fiddly to switch between Freesat / OtherSat modes as it would be between Freesat and Freeview isn't it?

HTH!

Mines done the same but it a different freeview. My dads trying to watch Emmerdale at the moment and now the signal on all of the channels has gone weird.

It takes the mick as the BBC is the only thing I watch. I don't want to replace it, I have recordings on there!
