John and Edward Odds...Come in Again!

Just noticed that the odds for the twins have come in even more in the last 24 hours and they are as short as 6/1 with Coral...biggest odds just 7/1!

The bookies must be taking a hell of alot of money for the odds to be cut so short so quickly....be worth them winning just to see the bookmakers get a hammering!

I've heard the bookies are facing a £20m payout if they win

All this hype will probably dye out before the final I reckon but we should by the time we get down to the final 5 if the producers are worried they might win

Can honestly say(and i am a betting man) that i have never seen odds get cut so quickly and so short from the big prices they previously were a week or 2 ago...just makes me think that the bookies are getting info to suggest that they are honestly getting a high percentage of votes

they'll be the favs to win soon, interesting reading that as a betting man you have never seen this happen before.

do you think the bookies have taken very seriously the 10,000 votes on free to call (not a poll) where J&E got 30% of that and were in second place? with the leader taking 35%? If you dont know anything about that I will link you to the thread on here about it. As it is about people who actually voted not some daft poll on the internet.

No, they're not. I think the point is that a few weeks ago they were 150/1 at some bookies - now they're as low as 6/1 at some places. That's a pretty dramatic change (especially since they've been shortening at a very quick pace in the last couple of days)..

OK, I see..their odds have come dowm dramatically but Olly is the current fave.

Edit - yes on Befair they are the only ones whose odds are shortening/coming in, but they are in the middle behind Olly, Stacey and Joe

No i wasn't aware of that...be very interested to read about that

I bet on various different things including reality shows and seriously haven't seen a massive price cut like i have been noticing with John and Edward.

For the first few weeks their odds never really changed(so i question why?) then over the last 2 weeks every bookies has cut their odds at a frightening rate which makes me think that the bookies are now getting inside info(something i am damn sure they get) with these types of betting markets.

To be honest using my experience i backed the twins at 125/1 as soon as it was leaked about Louis getting the groups(was obvious he would pick them). Also did a similar thing with Rhydian backing him at 33-1 before the live shows started...just a case of taking a gamble and backing the people who are a bit different from the rest

Glorfindel is completely correct and understands what i am saying....its just the fact that their odds have come down so short so quickly....never seen anything like that before

that is one there was another that was before this one will try and find you that one as well.

I dont think people are getting the fact this is NOT a poll, this was 10,000 votes and you can read what is said in that thread as I think it could be indicating to the bookies that J&E are not anywhere near the bottom as so many people seem to think they are, also the fact it got the bottom two totally right and even in the right order beggars belief that is is not in some way a representation of the actual overall vote on the night.

I'im interested to see if free2vote release the percentages again next week GG.It's believed they'll have 20,000 or 30,000 votes this week,so that would be an excellent indicator.

Well according to Martins site they will have them if they are released and I will get them in a newsletter via email...

My only fear is SC et al will try to stop them being released to the public, as they will know if the amount of votes are tripled then the results will be very much believed, and more people know about it, like on here now, so more people will use the service I am sure, I will have to be bloody fast off the mark Saturday with my ONE vote as no way would I abuse a free system, that is not me, if I want to vote loads then my reckoning is I should pay for it. But I like my one free vote, as I cant use my own home phone to do so.

I have asked for the percentages for week one and two, hope I hear something back on that and will let you know.

I wouldn't read too much into the "multiple voting" that goes on on this free site ; there's just as much of that going on in the real vote ie. people voting 20 or 30 times for the same act.In any event,it seems the 10,000 free votes were used up in the space of 20 minutes on Saturday, and anyone trying to vote for the same act multiple times may have run into big problems.Besides,I can't see any particular way Danyl and Jedward supporters would have been able to hijack the votes.

If you do get the earlier figures, please post them here ; I'd be very interested to see the percentages for each week

I will post the figures here will bookmark this page now, if and when I get them but I got Martins email this morning so he is sending the figures out via email as well as on his site posting them.

I also agree you have to listen to a 15 second advert then be told your vote is cast which takes longer than normal voting so multiple may not be so easy.

And maybe you're coming up with an engaged tone as well.As I said I can't really see how Danyl or Jedward fans would have been ten times more successful at getting through than the fans of any other act

Yeah but why have people only suddenly started backing them after 2 weeks?

Surely most people who liked them would have backed them at huge prices before they even appeared on the live shows?

Well there you are they seem to be popular with many it seems lots of celebs too love them.

I really do think they stand a good chance of winning or coming second.

So it could be Danyl or Twins first or second then is it.?

Or could it be Olly Green Godess you say he is fav to win.

Well if they were what 12/1 a week ago people who had seen all the hype around them, all the papers covering just about only them, then I think the punters who bet and had a spare £100 stuck it on J&E.

It is the hype in the papers the fact they have not been bottom two, whereas Chico was bottom 2 week one and again week 3 he did not go out either time, but these lads have not even been in the bottom. That tells people that they are being voted for.

Before the live shows I think the expectation was the twins would be bottom week one and GONE out so some would not have risked a bet when it was 150/1 but hell many people did, the bookies stand to either make a mint or lose a great deal of money. Which I think is why many people are saying TWINS to win, as they love to see the bookies lose, let alone Simons face, mind you I am sure he is very happy right now this pair are keeping the show in the headlines, and the viewing numbers are going up week in week out.

Anymore info on the previous weeks and future weeks would be very appreciated as this is a far better indication then any online polls

Quite possible that this has had a huge effect on the odds reduction because i cannot believe that its just because more money is being put on them.

I actually work for a high street bookmakers and we haven't taken a single bet on the twins so far!

They are now 11/2 with one of the bookies and a few more going 6/1

There is a media hype surrounding them way in excess of all other acts bar Danyl & his press is largely negative.

They are attracting enormous numbers of votes as well at this stage certainly so it is not unreasonable for people to jump on the bandwagon.

The bookies will shorten the odds as money is piled on them.
