MW2 Custom Soundtrack

I'm new to custom soundtracks so not sure how they work. I had them working on MW and PGR4 with no problems and I want to be sure they will work with MW2.

Do they work for all games

They don't work for all games I found, I'm not sure if it always says it, but you can usually find out if a game does on the back of the case.

It's in the white boxes of info, usually towards the bottom of the back of the case, above the legal mumbo.

Considering it worked with MW, I'd readily say yes it will work.

What games did it not work for? I thought it was a standard feature of the console regardless of the game you were playing.

Why you would want to use it during MW2 is beyond me. During single player you should be enjoying the soundtrack created for the actual game. Hans Zimmer has done the soundtrack this time round, if you don't know him he does the soundtracks for a lot of big Hollywood action films. I'm also a fan of his work

During online play you shouldn't have any music, that way you can listen out to the things going on around you. For example where the gunfire is coming from and if someone is sneaking up behind you.

But each to their own I suppose

They work on every game I have ever played, and I have only ever seen them pause temporarily when in-game music segments come on, or the bits like 'EA Sports - Its In the Game' come on.

Custom soundtracks stop playback when important cutscenes or dialogue plays, just like in ingame soundtrack. It's a minor difference but I figured it mattered since the OP referenced in game soundtracks rather than just music.

This feature is MANDATORY for all Xbox 360 games except where it wouldn't make sense for it to be present (i.e. in Games like Guitar Hero where the music in the game should be playing instead of your own).

In other games, the developers can pause your music for cutscenes or important game play sections.

Yes custom soundtracks is universally built into the Xbox 360 OS and therefore can be turned on or off anytime you want in any game you play. Some Xbox 360 games don't support custom soundtracks from in-game menus etc, but that doesn't matter as you can turn on your music anyway direct from the hard drive or an external source such as an IPod.

I'd be lost without custom soundtracks on the Xbox 360, especially for racing games. Using this feature playing Forza 3 is a god send
