As people let down By channel 4 I think its time for a full boycott..

hi guys bloody typical..day im up in london this comes out..

I dont know about the rest of you but this is just giving back what they took away for BB10..and expecting us to be over the moon??

I think its time now this is ramped up..we go for a full boycott of C4..people who are part of youGov often get asked which channel they least watch..and since this BB farce C4 are top of my list on there.

Fair enough unless people have barb boxes it wont make a difference..(this is a view I held until recent)

but like all protests they start small and if the cause is good will catch on.

F word came back LAST in its slot...again C4 had a night with primetime under 2 million again.

The feeling i had when I read the news today Angela Jain has spat in my face and is claming ive just had my face washed.

she can stick her 'few hours' she can stick C4 where no doubt her head is currently resident.

C4 used my be my most watched channel we need to speard the word boycott channel 4 until they treat us with even a hint of respect.

It might be futile..then again C4 looks so weak at the moment who the hell are they trying to make this look anything but half arsed BS.

Before the axe announcement I'd say go for it, but I won't take part. Now I think the shows ending anyway so why not just try and enjoy whats left of it before it does leave?

I won't bother with it any more than I bothered with BB10. I'll just keep coming here to see what people on the forum have to say, that's far more interesting than the show is anyway.

I boycotted BB10 and had completely given up hope of C4 doing the right thing. So I won't be watching CBB7 or BB11.

Our rivals lack ambition and 'cultural provocation' says Channel 4 head

Julian Bellamy, head of Channel 4, attacks rivals' reliance on reviving classic shows such as Doctor Who and Gladiators

Channel 4 head Julian Bellamy has criticised rival broadcasters for a lack of ambition and "cultural provocation", and a dependence on reviving shows such as Doctor Who, Gladiators and Minder.
Bellamy admitted that the parlous state of advertising meant that Channel 4 had been forced to run more repeats and foreign acquisitions. However, he said that decisions such as ditching Big Brother had generated creative opportunities for the broadcaster.
"Putting a premium on intelligent provocation, irrespective of financial circumstance, is our best hope of staying afloat," he said, pointing out that ditching Big Brother had freed tens of millions of pounds for new commissions and 230 hours of peak TV airtime.
"We must spurn any temptation to relive past glories, as so many in television now do," he said.

whatever next ,the bbc listening to it's viewers and bringing back doctor who, what a waste of money and a total waste of time that was.

Sorry If I wasnt clear last night.

Since I posted that another thing has developed..Looks like they are losing Deal or No Deal (after wanting to slash the budget)....

As fans of Big brother we have given Channel 4 something a lot of others havent thats Loyalty.

angela Jain leaks to the press we are getting back the 2 hours in the afternoon (like the last CBB) and we are supposed to be delighted?

I really think its time if C4 are happy treating us like this do they even deserve us watching ?

They lost us last year with all of that palaver and trying to discredit what they KNEW was the solution.

They want 'intelligent provocation'? They are the least likely channel to achieve anything like it. Bunch of mess ups trying to bring in ideas above their station and ditching what actually was bringing home the bacon - ludicrous.

I haven't watched a thing on Channel 4 for ages and I can't say that I feel deprived as it's a relief.

So now they are throwing crumbs our way and expecting a fanfare? Not a chance.

Channel 4 Has a Whinge

It seems the BBC is expected to ride in on a white charger and save Channel 4, and I’m curious as to what efforts Duncan and his staff have gone to themselves to make this happen.
And banging on about how canning Big Brother after the next series has freed up gazillions of pounds for new commissions is no good at the moment. It’s a step in the right direction, but let’s come back in two years time and see how that’s worked out for them.

CHANNEL 4 BOSS : WE WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE OFFENSIVE TV SHOWS

A TOP boss at Channel 4 has pledged to continue making offensive shows in a bid to shake up the “bland’ state of TV.
“This is a moment to be more focused than ever on reaffirming our credentials as Britain’s most forward looking, contemporary channel.”

take this farce coming up about garry glitter being hanged?

its bordering on farce now tbh.

We all know when they can put cheap repeats like friends on all the time theres no way in HELL they are going to folk money out on high risk show.

when BB ends you just know they will replace with repeats..films some more home & cookery shows.

Didn't Big Brother do all that for them and more anyway? BB5 fight night, Shilpa and Jade etc anyone?

Julian Bellamy on C4 & Creative Provocation

quite a long read but there is a long paragraph about big brother near the bottom

That’s why we’ve announced a doubling of our original drama budget for 2011 and a range of new commissions that demonstrate our ambition:

But it also means that we need a lot more programmes that have social purpose at their heart but which are also unambiguously entertaining. Programmes like Embarrassing Bodies, Sex Education, Secret Millionaire, How the Other Half Live, The Family. As disruptive and revealing as any social documentary, but which can more easily bring millions of viewers to them.

Its means there is a real sense of new beginnings at the channel. New Chairman. New Chief Executive. New schedules in a post Big Brother world. A new process of creative renewal, the commissioning priorities of which will emerge before Christmas.

oh god they have escaped from the live feed loony liberation front thread again!!! somebody phone the forum police to come and put their straight jackets back on and take them back.
seriously get over it c4 owe you nothing why are you still spending every day of your lives poring through internet articles looking for every chance you can to find something to slag channel 4 off for?
the truth be known if big brother had been bought by any other uk channel it probably would never have been anywhere near as popular as it has been for the last 10 years no other uk channel would have allowed the programme to be as real or cutting edge and near the knuckle as c4 have no other uk channel would have allowed fight nights, alleged racism, sex, violence etc etc etc to the point where it cost them high profile advertising revenue do you think sky1 itv etc would have let any of it screen??? i dont think so!

so before you spout your shallow vitrol just think what c4 have done for big brother over the years.
just think who made it impossible for them to continue to provide a watchable live feed yes it was the moaners the groaners and whingers that turn to ofcom at every available opportunity to get a dig in at channel 4!
you should be ashamed of yourselves!!!

im sure its not worth asking but i would prefer if you didnt do the same as last time i defended channel4 and get all your little gang to all report my post so i get perma banned again but hey ho who cares.

p.s. i have nothing to do with c4 im just sick of the anti c4 venom its boring, shallow and harmful to bbuk (god knows why any other channel would want to pick it up in the future)

I haven't watched anything on ch4 for ages.
But I think thats alot more to do with their scheduling possible of the programs that they make which I do watch as I watch alot of More4.

So when you say to boycot ch4 do you literally mean ch4 or do mean all of the ch4 channels including e4 more 4 and 4music.

Late night and weekends I've often got more 4 on, have now in fact theres noone else still broadcasting so in some ways you could say I would miss it quite a bit if i was to boycot it.
I can't remember the last new program that they made that I've watched though. the odd documentary and the imported US dramas but nothing home grown.

If they've lost deal or no deal does that mean that someone else has bought it or have they finally realised its a very boring show.

Never heard of constructive criticism then?
I think we should be very grateful to people who tried so hard to bring back the live feed

No Standing by them whilst year on year they basically shaft us..

making out this 'extra coverage' is something special when in fact its what they provided in the last CBB much to the rage of most fans at the horrendous cuts they made.

there are very simple ways of giving more coverage and keeping everyone happy.
