Box went off and wont turn on now?

Each Day at 1am my box turns itself off and have not had any problems with that till today.

It turned off at 1am and now when i try to turn it back on it wont do anything.

This is the 1st time it has done it so does anyone have any idea on whats going on with it?

I have a Amstrad HD box.

Have you tried unplugging the power lead from the socket?

If not, try that. When you plug it back in, it may take a couple of minutes before it responds to the remote.

I assume you are talking about the auto-standby, and that you are actually watching something at that time, so you should see an on screen message? I've not had this problem with my HD box, but I did with a Sky+ box - only way to get the box to come out of standby was a full power-off reboot. After several weeks of this I switched off the auto-standby and no more problems, until a few weeks later the HHD failed - was not able to record, pause etc.! Box replaced and no more issues with auto-standby. So could be signs of a pending HHD failure.
