Where would you choose to live?

My OH is applying for a job and if he gets it would have the choice of working in

Bath
Bracknell
Wilmslow

Which would you choose and why?

Bath.

Bracknell is a new town dive and Wilmslow is full of footballers and their WAGS posing around in their Lincoln Navigators plus the scenery is flat and boring.

Somerset is a beautiful part of the country and the pubs have Thatchers Cider on draught !

Don't know anything about Wilmslow, but having moved from not far from Bath (Bristol) to not far from Bracknell (about 10 miles away), I can tell you that the house prices in Bracknell are way higher.

Bath as I like the history.

Not been to Bracknell or Wilmslow and I don't intend to either.

Bath.

A beautiful small city with tons of atmosphere. I have moved to the South West from the North West a few months ago and I love the fact that I can now go into Bath whenever I like. Fantastic! Possibly my most favourite city in the country. Though Bristol is pretty good as well.

I am drawn to Bath as well as it reminds me so much of Edinburgh.

Bracknell is nearer to London and there are some nice wooded areas there. I used to live in Camberley and Hampshire/Berkshire/Oxfordshire but it has changed a lot in 40 years.

I have never lived ooop north but like to visit there.

Thank you for your replies and look forward to reading some more

Not really. A grotty downtrodden Lancashire Mill Town, however Wilmslow is supposed to be nice. However it is probably like anywhere, it has some nice bits and some grotty bits. Still yet to find the grotty bits of Bath though.

Bath.

Bracknell is a bit chavvy from what I've seen. On the upside it does have Coral Reef. No idea about Wilmslow.

Ahhh Coral Reef - haven't thought about there in a long time!

From what I remember (and it's about 10 years since I've been there) but Bracknell is awful

I'd go for Bath

Wilmslow is OK, very close to Manchester airport though. Countryside is lovely around there with Alderley Edge very close and Peak Distict not far away. OH had his Christmas do at a hotel nr Wilmslow/AE last year, so we got to see some of the area. Also there is some great shopping with the Trafford Centre not too far.

Bath is lovely for a day trip, I really like the place, but I'm not sure I would want to live somewhere so touristy.

What is the the Coral Reef? The only one I know is the one that has just opened in Boscombe, Dorset

Yes Wilmslow, Cheshire

I'm used to living in/near tourist places - lived in

Edinburgh
Oxford
Bournemouth
Basingstoke

I prefer living in the country, as it is more peaceful and cheaper than living in the suburbs or in the towns.

This is an excellent point. If somewhere is lovely to visit lots of people obviously visit it and parking and driving are a nightmare. Obviously expensive too to live in a city with a big tourist industry.
