Hi,
Right now I need one for Wharfdale DV832B freeview.

The guy who owns the shop in which I help out buys lots of equipment with no remotes or manuals (hopeless) and the replacements he does eventually buy are only cheapos which don't do all the functions.
Hope to chat again.
Regards

I recently had to get a replacement for the remote for my TV because, over about four years of use, some of the buttons had worn down so much that it was hard to get them to "make contact" when pressed. I got a replacement from E-Spares:

http://www.espares.co.uk

They seem to carry a good range.

I tend to use OneForAll remotes as they can be made to work with almost anything - have sound punch-through and it is a fag having a pile of remotes when one will do!

If you cannot get it working with your device - you ring them up and they will download the required settings via the telephone direct to the remote (I have used this twice in the past and the remote has retained the download for years - even when reset to other devices). With most of them ALL the keys are programmable and can use 'learn' mode to set whatever you want.

PS I have used many other 3rd party remotes and they have all worn out or ceased to work properly.

with most remote's that keys no longer operate or troublesome, the fault usually turns out to be a dirty PCB / key pad.
remove the batters. unclip the remote bottom from top.
using a damp cloth wipe PCB key contact aria to remove dirt, wash rubber keys gently in soapy water, rince and dab dry with kitchenette or similar. leave to dry completely, put back together should work ok again.

I use WD40 normally, or Surgical Spirit if the PCB contacts are of the "BLACK" carbon type. Always wipe dry with a lint-free material and for good measure clean the case and the battery contacts. In the case of the latter an OLD toothbrush is very useful.

thanks for the tip, but I don't think that was the case here, as the only two keys that I had trouble with were the two that I used most frequently, which suggested that wear was the problem.

I rapidly received a (spare) genuine Vestel remote for my Digihome from TV Repairman.

Except that, as I mentioned in my first post, I've already bought a replacement. Perhaps that was a mistake.
