Emmerdale: Mark Wylde's Exit - Anita Turner's curse still lingering?

Anita Turner created the character, and even though she's still not there, is her curse still hanging over the show, as Mark Wylde prepares to depart the village in January??

It's weird how her characters still linger and only last short amounts of time.

I'm guessing it's Maxwell's decision to leave?

But if a wooden actor falls over in a soap and there's no one there to hear him - does he still make a sound?

I wouldn't say he was wooden, perhaps just not used to working on a soap like Emmerdale - they do work long hours, etc. Perhaps he has tired of it, as far as I know there are no axings at least on Mark Wylde - with characters like Mark's it makes it harder for scriptwriters to keep them in the show more long-term, like say, erm .... Reverand Ashley Thomas or Diane Sugden.

I don't think he is being killed off, so there is a possibility he could return (if the work in American drys up again lets say), but he has made an impact at least - especially with the Faye storyline and ruffled a few Dingle feather - so has in a sense done his job there.

Wish Maxwell well with his future projects - and hope to see him back in Emmerdale in a few years maybe.

He is pretty wooden, and doesn't seem to be able to cope with saying more than about six words at a time.

Strange. I really liked him in Casualty and was sorry when he got killed off.

But a good actor can easily cope with this kind of schedule. Think of reperatory theatre where they do two shows a day every day for weeks on end.

Hes a stunningly crap actor. but in a way ive gotten used to: couldnt imagne anyone else in the role, and certainly wouldnt want to see mark recast with a "better actor" for instance; Maxwell caufield IS mark wylde.

i wonder what his exit will mean for the rest of his family? if Faye is still legally his wife would that mean if he does die then she would inherit home farm. i loved to see Natasha and her vile children kicked out by Faye
i see Natasha's character becoming a lot more bitchy once her husbands gone but i hope that they keep both Natasha and Faye away from that awful new factory boss though

I was thinking the same thing, but then if they found out she knew he was alive and well all this time wouldnt she be looking at a sentance in prison for not coming clean about it?

I agree that Mark's cheesy but great

As for Anita Turner's curse - I think it's been lifted. The infantile comedy she seemed to prefer most of the time has been erased completely. Bonnie and her crabs are but a horrible and distant memory now

I keep shouting "Once more with feeling" but obviously he's not listening. I can see a few ways of him being written out, without being killed off. Unless it's a really good dramatic ending (Mike Baldwin for example), I would rather characters just walk & not get carried out. I think it's just idle writing to kill off characters although not as bad as packing them off to Australia LOL.

From what I can make out from the ITV website is that Maxwell was only ever going to be in it for a year and that has come to an end. Its the way he said " I cant believe my year in the beautiful Yorkshire has gone so quick".

Straight to the point but 100% true

He's a dire actor and he always has been. His wig looks ridiculous as well. Im sure he is a nice person but he cant act to save his life.

He looks terribly botoxed and made up. Shame. He was beautiful, back in Dynasty.

Natasha owns 50% of that house if her name is on the papers.

But is her name on the deeds?
And even if it is, seeing as his name really isn't Mark Wylde, but is really Daniel Lambe, doesn't that make her name irrelevant, seeing as it's a made up one anyway?

Seeing as Ryan is his only legitimate heir, surely he'd be the one to inherit.

I'm rather surprised the writers didn't go down the route of having Ryan and Maisie falling in love, but maybe Emmerdale has had its fill of incest storylines.

Natasha and Faye having to share Home Farm would be a good storyline.
