Aiden Jefferies (Home & Away) Question - "Possible Spoilers!*

I was reading this weeks Inside Soap (the 7-13th November 2009 issue) and it had a segment it has every month of who's leaving which soap, and Aiden's (played by Todd Lasance) name featured.

I'd read an article on DS a few months back refuting claims that he was leaving - as there had been rumours of his interest in persuing a career in America.

I am now confused, because I haven't read it as fact that he's leaving. I know Lincoln Lewis (who plays Geoff Campbell) is departing the show soon - but didn't realise Todd was.

Can anyone clear this one up? Or has Inside Soap got it wrong and confused with Lincoln's departure?

IT's been rumoured for a while, even more so since Lincoln Lewis announced he was leaving, yet Todd has refuted it several times. Maybe Inside Soap got confused and printed the article about the wrong actor?! I hope so anyway!

Ok thanks tink. I'm also hoping it's a misprint - as there's so much more that can be done - especially since the character recently lost his wife Belle (Jessica Tovey) to bowel cancer.

Well I've had a scoot round the rest of the internet and couldn't find anything leading to Aden's departure - however much you like an actor and their character, they will eventually end up leaving - I mean take Maxwell Caulfield in Emmerdale, only been there a year and already is off elsewhere - still Aden's young and has plenty of scope for my storylines - especially as he used to be so temperamental - which we understood why a few years into his original casting.

Will he perhaps reunite and patch up his differences with his alcoholic father, and what of his mother - is she really dead or did he just want to forget she existed for a perhaps more underlying reason?

Aden's had a bit of a set-two with Geoff Campbell in the past - can they both resolve their past differences before Geoff waves Summer Bay goodbye?

And can he move on from Belle that quickly, or will he just enjoy hanging out with his friends and perhaps get more involved with his work to keep himself occupied?

Questions, questions, questions - so you see there is plenty to keep him around - but at the end of the day it is Todd's decision if he really does want to quit - so I support him whatever he does and chooses to do in the future.

Oh, I hope he does leave soon. Nothing against Todd but I can't stand Aden. He's tied with Martyr as the most insufferable character H&A has ever had.

DS got it wrong - Aden is indeed leaving.

Todd hasn't finished filming yet though (he'll be wrapping up sometime in the next few weeks), meaning he'll be on screen well into 2010.

Hi Danial - thanks for that.

I thought as much. As long as he isn't being killed off then he can come back if any of the characters he knew are still in.

The only newer characters I'm ok with are Ruby, Charlie, Xavier & Xavier's elder brother (the one who's dating Martha). The others I'm taking a little longer to liken.

Wonder how he's leaving then. I guess once Belle died there was nothing left for him to do. Or he could've wanted to be going for ages, but it hasn't been well publicised yet - as half and half of people knew or didn't know he was actually leaving (myself included).

I think he still as an LA agent, so that'll be his next port of call if the reports back in August were true (other than when it said he "wasn't leaving" ofcourse.

Here's the link to the article I was referring to for those who haven't read it yet (August 2009):

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s1...-and-away.html

That baffles me even more if it was an actual Home & Away source who said he wasn't leaving - perhaps that was just a cover till they'd properly announced his departure. Very bizarre either way. But he had to go at some point I suppose - just as long as he doesn't die in it then at least he can return if his career in America doesn't happen (not that I'm wishing him ill of a crack over there). 32-year-old former Home & Away actor Ryan Kwanten (Vinnie Patterson) has done ok for himself - what with his varying film roles and his particular success in vampire hit show True Blood as Jason Stackhouse.

Why is it that nobody can stay in the Aussie soaps for longer than two minutes!
