Blimey .... Brian May really did think J&E were good!

Unbelievable

Quote:
Queen guitarist, Brian May, has praised John and Edward Grimes' performance of the band's hit We Will Rock You on the X Factor last week and hinted that he would be interested in the twins becoming Queen's new frontmen.

May, 6'2", said "It was a privilege to hear the guys sing that track. I have to say I was completely blown away. It was truly sensational. In fact they’re so obviously winners any bookie would be mad to take bets on it.”

He added: "I am not kidding. I'm not easily moved to jelly by male vocalists but these boys’ voices reach out with sensitivity, depth, maturity and awesome range and power which will make jaws drop all around the world.”

"It was an awesome performance. No doubt about it. The world of rock has two bright new stars."

As a massive Brian May fan (a Mayniac ) I am sad to report that lately Brian has been rather over positive about a lot of new and younger performers, so perhaps he is just going through some kind of senility now he is in his 60s.
Ok, a bit harsh, but he has also 'hinted' at other people 'fronting Queen' like Adam Lambert amongst others.
In reality, he says something and the media hounds blow it up.

ROFL Candy, very good.

I particularly liked the 6'2" bit I've always wondered why the British media have a fixation with quoting people's ages in articles. Quoting their height .............. even more irrelevant

The quote that Candy Store has ............... ahem .................. edited is about Adam Lambert. I can't get the link to paste as a link but here is the relevant part of the article:

Quote:
The Queen guitarist wrote on his official blog that he had listened to the song during a visit to Rob Cavallo's studio in Calabasas.

May said: "I was privileged to hear a track that the guys have finished for Adam Lambert, a song for a forthcoming film, 2012. I have to say I was completely blown away.

"It's truly sensational. In fact it's so obviously a smash, any bookie would be mad to take bets on it."

He added: "I am not kidding. I'm not easily moved to jelly by male vocalists, but Adam's voice reaches out with sensitivity, depth, maturity, and awesome range and power which will make jaws drop all around the world.

"It's an awesome performance. No doubt about it. The world of rock has a bright new star."

Earlier this year, May said that he would like to collaborate with Lambert

There were.... they captured the essence and energy of the song.

'We will rock you' is not a vocally challenging song, it doesn't require a great vocalist to perform it. It does however require some energy injected into it.... Louis was wise in choosing it for them. It played on their strengths.

I have to agree with that

It's not the most vocally challenging of Queen's songs.

John & Edward can take all the ridicule in the knowledge that so many legends think they are wonderful.

Meat Loaf had this to say

Quote:
"I'm in the middle of a record now and my producer, who is like the god of producers at the moment, is working on a John & Edward track, and I'm going over to meet them. John & Edward [of "X Factor" fame] are the only singers that I've ever thought were amazing. I think there have been great singers, you know, Freddie Mercury, Steven Tyler, you know, a lot of great rock singers. Michael Jackson was one, but John & Edward are two I haven't been awestruck with since Janis Joplin in the '60s. I don't think anybody actually yet comprehends how good these guys are. I mean, I've downloaded everything they've done so far on "X Factor." I'm like this John & Edward groupie."

Brain May is very lovely, I'm sure he means it in jest, especially when he was privileged to know and be friends with the great Freddie Mercury, I mean wouldn't you take the p*ss out of anyone who dares to copy that guy?

I think we’ve established that this is a joke thread. Read through it and you will see where CS is coming from.

Why was 6'2" relevant?

Should add, friend of mine works at a health spa and she met him and said he is a lovely bloke - very down to earth and friendly. So I have a soft spot for him.

Gosh there are some obtuse people who still do not get it is a joke taken from a real quote about another singer, and not a quote about the terrible twins.

Oh dear....I need to recover sanity.
