Christmas present help for kiddliwinks...

I hope you can help.

I need to get all my Christmas shopping done with November's wage, and I need to buy for 3 boys aged 1, 2 and 3 and a girl aged 9. I don't see the children too often so am not entirely sure what they like, and i can't for the life of me think what to get them.

I've been to the ELC and to be honest, I thought this stuff was a bit rubbish - perhaps because i'm on a budget - i'd like to spend under £10 on each little 'un.

Thank you in advance for all your help!! I am a genuinely rubbish gift buyer!!

Boots 342 offers are good, they sell all sorts there. Some similar stuff to ELC but they also sell branded things like In the Night Garden, Thomas and Peppa Pig.

I but most of my childrens toys from there and save an absoloute fortune because of the 342 deal

Have a browse in the toys section on amazon - I was in a similar boat but found it useful and cheap!

Agreed, and you can also sort by price range, age and gender I think which I find incredibly useful for Christmas shopping and ideas.

You can't go wrong buying cars for kids.

I bought my 2 yr old friction cars last xmas and he loves them. They make a racket but he is happy.

You get the whole set for a tenner. They are sturdy aswell and stand being bashed about. Great quality.

Bargain.

Shame they're for over 3 years old, my GD would love them.

Argos have a range of toys at 2 for £15 at the moment.

BM Bargains is a good store for branded good cheap toys, i picked up baby alive for £25 and it was £50 everywhere else
also Sainsburys have a half price toy sale

Also hit up hotukdeals.co.uk for good deals

For boys you cant go wrong with

Thomas the Tank
Fireman Sam

Some kind of Megabloks building thing for the 3 year old, 2 year old get some kind of education thing and fgor the 1 year old go with a cuddly toy

Waybuloo is very popular at the moment maybe something from that

For the 9 year old, maybe she has a Nintendo DS or a WII so get her a voucher for GAME so she can go and choose a game with you and she will feel grown up for going to the shops and using her own money.

Very young kids I normally buy clothes.
Last year I got OH's 9-year old niece this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Paper-Fashio...d_bxgy_b_img_b

No idea if she even used it though. Someone else got her a spacehopper and she seemed to like that. Year before that I made her a sweets box. HTH

How about combining the 3 wee ones gifts so they can share? I agree with the Waybuloo suggestion being popular. Play.com have a wide selection, so you could get a dvd, beanie figure toys & bedtime books for under £30.

Or go for a job lot of bath toys, guessing they maybe share bathtime or the parents have to be really organised to get 3 sorted plus big sis.

My big brother had a similar prob and had to buy for 2 wee boys aged 2 and 4. He went for a Thomas Aquadraw:

Ask the parents. That's what I do with family members and friends with kids.

It's times like this that you really miss the Wonder of Woolworths, but they are still trading online and currently offering 25% off toys. Otherwise try Toys Я Us.

Get yourself to Sainsburys - currently got a half price sale on at the moment.

Boots is great for presents - 3 for 2 is a good deal and you will be able to pick up some great gifts for all the kids . . plenty of choice for £5 presents.

If you live near Home & Bargin it is worth a quick look around. The toys they have are good quality but can be up to 75% cheaper.

I have just bought a fold up scooter for my 9 year old boy at £8.99 and they had purple/pink ones for girls. There were also things there for younger kids.

I always get my nieces a book- at least it's somewhat educational. Or try this site my sister told me about- they have some good suggestions for under a tenner. www.peoplelovepresents.com

Bargain.

We have the emergency ones and due to the racket they are bedroom only toys

For the 1 year old, anything that flashes and grabs their attention is good. For the 2 year old, you may struggle with the age you get 18months or 3 years but very little 2yrs stuff (know this as buying for our soon to be 2yr old!!)

3yrs, cars and TT said, play doh, crayons & paper.

The 9 year old girl may bve tricky depending how mature she is, some 9yr olds I know still like barbies etc but then some don't and havent for a few years!! That's when you should ask the parents for the type of things she is into!!

I find that my 3 year old grandchild likes simple toys such as small figures. The Timmy Time set of three figures are quite good and will not be too expensive.
There is also Bob The Builder and it's figures and tractors, Thomas the Tank Engine and the playsets from the Cars Disney film. Wilkinsons toy department has these sort of toys.

As for a nine year old girl, maybe she would like a little bag with a necklace and bracelett or maybe a musical box?

9 year old girl, from working with them everyday would be High School Musical, Hannah Montana, Disney Princess stuff or jewellary making things Or maybe a voucher for Build a Bear or something similar??
Asda have a few things here
http://direct.asda.com/Gifts-for-Gir...efault,sc.html
The younger ones, Wonder Pets, Peppa Pig, Thomas the Tank Engine or Fireman Sam, maybe Toy Story also, as my twin nephews are into that at the minute and they are only 2

First I'd probably suggest checking with the parents! We can't afford to buy all the kids want so it's nice when people ask - it's still a surprise for the kids.
No idea for little ones but for a 9 year old girl I'd go for a compilation cd like Now 74 or pop party 7. Or Bendaroos (argos/Amazon) which seem popular at the mo with girls. Theya re on the 2 for £15 at Argos too. Or wild science at argos/amazon - they do soap science, bath bombs, perfume laboratory which mine love. Also the klutz papar fashion book recommended above or anything by Klutz
