l`oreal men expert shaving foam I think tesco or boots i forget which are doing 3 for 2 as its fairly pricey £4 ish for the foam and more for the moisturiser ..... and do the following

1. Get a new razor ... make it a gillette fusion
2. buy some men expert shaving foam
3. buy a face wash and post shave balm or moisturiser (preferably men expert)
4. buy a shaving oil (king of shaves are good)

5. Shave in the bath or shower it will help
6. Wash face with face wash and rinse
7. put on the shaving oil and then the shaving foam
8. Shave against the grain washing the razor ever 2 strokes
9. Apply balm

I have the same problem as you and this is how i do it to excellent results, i have found going against the grain is more irritating but requires many less strokes leading to less irritation in the long run.

Will prob set you back about £20

I also dont shave too often and have a beard trimmer which i use when i dont need to be clean shaven.

I use the Gillette Saving Foam for sensitive skin which contains Aloe Vera. This works for me.

Cant add much - although you dont have to spend loads..
I had the same problem and just use to shave twice a day (morning and night) found that a good way to keep any redness down..
Funnily enough I have "grown" out of it now and dont need to...
Just make sure you wash first and moisturise afterwards..
King of shaves razors I find the best personally - its individual though, just steer away from cheap disposable types.

I think a few things help.. taking a shower/bath before hand and making sure your face is wet and warm relaxes the skin and helps with the shave. Also making sure you shave slowly and don't hack at your face. Also regular shaving seems to help too.

I have used this for years, it's absolutely brilliant, hence the price.

and clean the razor after use, and change the blade regularly. dirty old blades are deferably worse than new ones.
