New sky EPG on Freesat

Hi
I have searched around and cant find an answer to this.
I have a Sky HDbox with a freesat from sky card so the only HD channels are CH4, BBC HD, and that stupid Lux channel.

Im told it is possible to access ITV HD via the new EPG, my problem is that my box has never received the update due to only being a freesat from Sky customer. Do you think this is why it hasnt happened? If so, if I was to borrow a subscription card for a few days do you thin my HD box would update then work as normal when I out my usual card back in?

Thanks for any advice.

Firmware updates are system wide but rolled out dependent upon model and revision and some other schedule SKY dreams up after a night out on the town, you are not being sidelined by not being a subscriber

I wouldn't have thought being a non subscription box would have any effect on getting the new EPG.

What brand box do you have? If you have a Thomson or Pace have you tried a forced upgrade?

It doesn't matter if you subscribe to Sky or not it will receive the new EPG when its released for your brand

Pace have received it , Thomson have received it, Samsung boxes are in the middle of getting it which leaves the Amstrad still waiting

As mentioned you can force the SW update if you have the right brand of box
