Joss Stone...woo or boo

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/in...oss-stone.html

Now Im from Devon, near by where she came from and went to school.

Jocelyn Stoker was ok, I quite liked her first album, but i think she got a little bit to big for her boots really. She just seems to be slagging everyone off recently. Her album was also released this week. .

Her faux American accent grates on me. Other than that, she seems ok though I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to her music.

Not a fan. I don't know what it is, but she gives off bad vibes - she seems to be incredibly full of herself.

Her voice isn't all that either - quite screechy, IMO and the whole 'soul' sound is a bit of a cliche.

That is the reason why I don't like Joss Stone.

Too fake.

I like her music....Her accent doesn't bother me in the slightest...Didn't Nadine from GA have a american accent mixed with her irish?...we should support talented UK artists like Joss Stone, Duffy, Adele, Taio Cruz, Mika but instead its the manufactured artists are more favoured with the press which is a shame because some of them can't sing very well!...says alot about our music scene over here....xo

I adore Joss stone. I wasn't into that type of music back she first came out. But i tried out her third album and it's one of my all time favourite albums.

I wish people would leave her alone. She's a bit of weirdo but i loved her purple hair and I just admire anyone who is unique.

I find her voice extrodinary and I am really enjoying her new album. It's a shame it isn't selling well.

Personally I dont care how she is as a person, she may be a bit stuck up she may not be, or what accent she sings and talks in. So long as I find her music enjoyable I shall listen, and I do find it enjoyable so I buy her albums and play them when I get the chance.

I don't really understand why Joss even bothers with the UK market, all she gets is bad press, despite having one of the most critically acclaimed albums of the year.

I like Joss Stone. She has such a powerful voice and I love her songs "Super Duper Love" and "You Had Me".

I'm not going to say woo or boo, I'm going to say underwhelming

she has the talent to be a huge star, yet has been let down with average/poor songs the last 2-3years. Since her debut its all been quite anonymous. When really she'd have rocked doing 'big band' songs like Amy Winehouse does.

I think ultimately she's been mismanged, a good manager/PR would have altered the public's perceptions of her IMO

People are ridiculously shallow, one minor change to her accent for a few seconds and she is marked for life. She's amazingly talented, I love her voice.

I don't care about her accent, but I think she is very overrated and her music is nothing more than average.

Her voice is annoying sometimes, too.

I loved her first 2 albums and I think her latest is just as good. Although I do agree she shot herself in the foot at the Brits in terms of number of sales and promotion over here (the accent actually didn't bother me, it was just everything else she did, "Reehaaaaaaab" *cringe*). It's a shame really.

She was on some cooking show on BBC this morning. American accent has mysteriously vanished.

It's a "Woo" from me.

I don't particularly care what accent she uses or whatever. I don't actually pay much attention to what's going on with her unless it's a release of a new song.

She has released some good songs though, IMO.

I like:

You Had Me (Loves it)
Don't You Wanna Ride?
Fell In Love With A Boy
Super Duper Love

I also quite liked "Right To Be Wrong" but that's because I like Ballads.

I have been listening to her first two albums. The Soul sessions is an amazing album which I will purchase in the near future. Her voice isn't as strong but is good back those days but hearing her voice progress as her albums come along, she has majorly improved. She reminds me of a white Jennifer Hudson vocally.

massive woo. her new album is amazing - standout tracks include: incredible (super duper love v 2), parallel lines, lady, i believe it to my soul (ray charles cover) and the hidden bonus track mr ****** man.

i agree her reception, success and promotion in britain has been underwhelming, but she's a fantastic singer whose voice thus far has improved with each release.
