Another terrorist attack by the adherents of the religion of peace, biggest mass killing on an american base.

FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) — Soldiers who witnessed the shooting rampage at Fort Hood that left 13 people dead reported that the gunman shouted "Allahu Akbar!" — an Arabic phrase for "God is great!" — before opening fire, the base commander said Friday.

The more I read about this story the more bizarre I find it and the more I wonder how much the US military is now subject to the same kind of forced diversity worship and politicization that the UK police force is.

I mean this guy did not want to fight in Iraq or Afghanistan, did not agree with US Govt policy abroad, did not like other soldiers, believed in an apparently Islamist world view, even was suspected of, and under investigation of praising suicide bombings and using extremist websites.

Why exactly was he in the US military at all

Wow! it doesn't take much to stir up religious hatred nowadays. One report the guy may be muslim and everyone is baying for blood.

That's not necessary, but there must be some kind of filter for people applying to join.

Wasn't there a case a couple of years ago with a British Muslim intelligence officer supplying details to the Taliban?

When I was younger and more stupid I considered joining the British army and on the leaflets they handed out were a list of things that would prevent you from joining, and one of the questions asked was 'Are you now or have you ever been a Communist'

Communists were not allowed in the British Army due to the fact it was poised to fight a war against the Warsaw Pact, I do not see why 'Are you now or have you ever been an Islamist' could not be reasonably asked of new recruits?

Mind you its probably illegal to do so.
