Corrie 6/11/09: Suspicious Minds - Soaps

Friday 6 November 2009 7:30PM - 8:00PM

Roy (David Neilson) wants to go to the police and report Tony for murder but Hayley (Julie Hesmondhalgh) dissuades him, convinced that Tony was just drugged up and talking rubbish. Roy’s sceptical but when he finds the phone in his hand will he have the courage to dial 999? Maria (Samia Smith) meanwhile gets some support from Ted (Michael Byrne) who talks to her about losing his partner to a heart attack.

Peter (Chris Gascoyne) explains to Ken (William Roache) how Simon’s other granddad, George (Anthony Valentine), has been in contact and is picking Simon up from school later. Wary, Ken wants to know more about George.

Joe (Reece Dinsdale) plans a surprise romantic evening for Gail (Helen Worth) on the boat to thank her for her support. But what shocks has he got in store for her this time?

And Norris (Malcolm Hebden) makes another attempt at finding the perfect employee for the Kabin. When he interviews Horace Steel (Robert Maxfield), who's a clone of Norris, he thinks he’s found him and offers him the job on the spot.

Friday 6 November 2009 8:30PM - 9:00PM

As Roy (David Neilson) goes to phone the police the enormity of what he’s about to do hits him. Aware he will ruin both Maria’s life and memories he puts the phone down feeling conflicted. Hayley (Julie Hesmndhalgh) then sets about trying to persuade Roy to let his suspicions about Tony drop as he has no real evidence. Will Roy agrees?

Joe (Reece Dinsdale) surprises Gail (Helen Worth) with a meal and champagne on the back of the boat parked on the drive. They giggle like teenagers as they clamber aboard and Joe shows Gail the boat’s new name, ‘Gail Force’. But the mood changes when Joe suddenly gets down on one knee and proposes. Will Gail accept?

George (Anthony Valentine) meets the Barlow clan for the first time. Simon’s (Alex Bain) delighted to see his granddad again, especially when he gives him a present. Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) and Blanche (Maggie Jones) are also bowled over by George’s charm but Ken’s (William Roache) not so sure.

And Jack (William Tarmey) admits to Tyrone (Alan Halsall) he’s worried Connie is after more than just companionship as he keeps hearing her shuffling about outside his bedroom door in the night.

This episode is written by Damon Rochefort and produced by Kim Crowther, the director is Tim Dowd.
