Does Louis ever have any decent acts???

I've been watching the X Factor for a couple of years now, and it seems to me like Louis always has the most mediocre acts, trashy girl groups and below par boy bands that would be blown off the stage by any genuine singers, they all seem to be bad jokes, rejects he picked up at a sleazy karaoke bar during a drunken night out that he regretted in the morning. None of them have a chance in hell of winning, so why does Simon keep him around? Just to amuse himself?

He won it in series 2 so he's not only had bad acts. JLS were good last year too, and Miss Frank should still be in the competition imo.

Louis only has himself to blame.

He only put Jedward through because they were Irish; how petty & small minded can he be?

He has done OK with some and this isn't the first time he has had a joke act as his last act:

Series 1 - G4 (2nd Place)
Series 2 - Shayne Ward (Winner)
Series 3 - MacDonald Brothers (4th Place)
Series 4 - Niki Evans (4th Place)
Series 5 - JLS (2nd Place)

I think Louis is kept around for amusement. He's generally absurd and talks total nonsense. But he's funny.

I don't think they got through because of their nationality at all. They did stand out at their first audition even if, as Cheryl put it at the time, there was something intriguing about them even if we weren't sure it was in a good way.

But he could have put through another girl band, and then he'd have NO acts lefts at this point - his cup wasn't exactly spilling over in the group category this year!

Jls

I don't get the success of JLS at all. I don't see anything about them that makes them stand out from hundreds of other boy bands out there, they could never compare to any of the genuine superstar acts from the past. I'm not even a fan of Westlife or the Backstreet Boys or whoever, I don't really follow boy bands, but JLS make those guys look like The Beatles! I think they're just pathetic. Personally, I thought Miss Frank were horrible, I can't believe they lasted as long as they did, but I guess that says something about the quality of the acts this year.

Cheryl should get the groups next year. You would think that would be her area of expertise.

I don't think in Louis' 60-odd years he's ever had a hand in ANY music that wasn't vomit-inducingly awful shit.

Wow.

People are naive enough to think that the mentors choose who they are putting through themselves.

Louis has been given the worst catefory (groups) in 4 of the 6 series, and won 1 of the 2 where he wasn't. You think Simon should get rid of Louis because the producers keep giving him the worst category?

Personal opinion aside, they're doing very well for themselves; so they must have been a decent act in terms of appealing to the public.

This year he has the greatest act that X Factor has ever had, the sublime, post modern, untouchable John & Edward.

So put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Does this mean where he wasn't in the worst category?

JLS and G4 both did really well. G4 were pritty sucessful for a while.
Hes done a lot better with the Groups category then simon ever did when he had them, Futureproof would have done better had louis been their mentor ...
