Joan Does Glamour..............thoughts?

I've always been a big fan of Joan Collins as the ultimate in glamour and looking good.

I actually agree with her in that many women in Britain have gone grunge and dowdy but believing that it is fashionable.
What's even more interesting is those women who think that glamour on a night out involves tattooed to death, piercings and the shortest micra lycra dress possible, even if you have thunder thighs and bulging all over the place.

I didn't like her Primark choices for the women, but could see that she was trying to get them away from what they might themselves have chosen.

The final result should be interesting.

Lol Me too.....well trying to be at 50.

I actually am dismayed at how little effort some women take in their appearance on a day-to-day basis.

Is nobody else watching this?

Well for those who catch up (if interested)......I wasn't a fan of Hollie's outfit and all that colour (but I've never been a flower power fan anyway, and think the same effect could have been achieved with colours, but not mish mash multi-colour).

I also didn't like the choice of colour for gran.....but liked that the overall effect was achieved in covering arms and good make up and hair do etc.

I think the mum was the best effect and that worked in colour and choice of hair, makeup etc.

Overall, I think the show should make interesting viewing. I especially like Joan's going out into the community during the day and at night interesting.

How odd. So what did STV show when this originally aired on ITV1?

No I didn't, because it wasn't shown on our network.

But since you are aware of this fact, did you have an opinion then or now about the show itself, and if so, what?

Ghastly pollyfilla'd old hag who is a bit chubby and wrinkled - and yet seems to think she can teach working class women to be glamorous. Laughable and patronising twaddle.

STV aired "The Sinking of the Royal Oak" on Tuesday 13 October at 9pm, as ITV1 were showing Joan's show.
