I'm confused. My bill is still showing a charge of £45.00 for my XXL broadband. I phoned the billing people who explained that because I am on the VIP package and I get a discount of £34.95 and a second box for free saving a further £10 I get a total of £44.95 discount.

How do they work out that I am initially charged £45 for a £28 service but it is OK because of the discounts?

Does anybody understand this?

No-one understand VM's billing, least of all VM.

Ignore all the charges and the discount, just look at the end price and compare that to the prices on their website and see if it's correct.

BB XXL ALWAYS shows as £45 on EVERYONE'S bill. This is indeed the before-discount price.

The £28 price is the nominal price for someone whose bundle contains only BB XXL and Phone M, billed as follows:

BB XXL £45
Phone M £11
discount -£17
Total £39

If you take the £11 for Phone M off the total of £39, you get the £28 price for BB XXL.

In your case, VIP with BB XL is now £89.50 and VIP with BB XXL is now £97.50, i.e. £8 more expensive. Check your old bill for BB XL price before you upgraded - it will say BB XL £37.

45-37=8, the price increase when you upgrade your BB from XL to XXL on VIP.
