Got back with a ex and regret it big time - Advice

Hi,

I have made a huge mistake! I split with my ex a year ago and spent a lot of time thinking of the good things.... then I made contact a few weeks back and ended up getting back with her.

I now regret it big time! funny how you block out the bad stuff when you apart? I now realise why we split.

I want to end it but feel so bad.

Any tips on dealing with this.?

Just tell your ex it is not working out. Fairer to them in the long run, rather than leading them on.

If you spent a lot of time thinking about and presumably missing the good times, instead of chucking her again, why not sit down and try to sort out the "bad stuff" with her?

Both of you have to work at the relationship and if you at least try to change things for the better and it doesnt work out, then at least you can walk away without having to feel so bad.

Be honest with her as you can't go on being unhappy in a relationship, it just makes it even harder as times go on.

I moved out of my ex bf flat 11 years ago we had lived together three years, we got back together a few weeks later but lived in own flat's but I wasn't happy and ended it soon after.

now 11 years on I'm in a four year relationship and it's fantastic

There must have been a good reason why you split up with your ex in the first place.
Usually you find that the person becomes a habit and thats why people reconcile.
I have done it myself. Was with someone for a long time, split up, got back together and parted again. Once you break the habit your home free.
