BBC HD Srictly Sound
I have noticed a drop out in the sound in HD from Blackpool. It seems to rise and fall.
Anyone else noticed this? |

Standard BBC 1 is fine.
Glad it is not just me being picky! |

It is a shame, the singers are well muffled and Bruce and judges voices rise and fall with some echo

Pay me £22k a year and I reckon I could do a better job even though I'm not a trained sound technician. I don't really want to watch it on BBC1 - the picture is terrible. It looks like it's snowing inside the ballroom. |

Not sure what to make of it all to be honest. The picture quality today has been superb -absolutely faultless. From Sarah Jane to Flog It! to Strictly the picture quality is excellent - like the old days.
If they could just get the sound right we would be onto a winner! |

I guess it must be something to do with a live OB. Maybe the OB lorry has a fault somewhere.
It may well be the uplink to London TVC |

I tuned in a little late - but no sound problems at all here via optical.
In fact was remarking how great the whole thing looked tonight. Super PQ and great 5.1! Could it just be the lighting is different or are the Beeb just better PQ with OBs?? |

The sound was truly awful on BBC HD - up and down throughout, what was clearly a well produced show - all that effort scuppered by the sound ruined the show for me.

I am not a sound expert but could the high ceilings at the ballroom have had an effect on the sound?

I recorded it on the HD channel so had no choice but to watch it in HD and couldn't compare the sound with BBC1 but i agree it was all over the place and at first i thought there was something wrong with my TV or the hard drive on the box,
I think there was a problem with the sound mixing from all the various mikes etc, When Rod Stuart started to sing, Did anyone else notice that you could still hear voices, talking etc coming from somewhere else? |
