How could Kathy on EE possibly be resurrected?

The only storyline I can come up with is that her husband Gavin got in very deep financial trouble with some very shady characters who threatened to kill Ben. So they faked their deaths and live in Malaysia. And Phil actually knows the truth but was sworn to secrecy.

I know, pretty farfetched, but no more far fetched than the one that had Dan, who was engaged to Carol, turn out to have had an affair with her daughter Bianca several years previously in another part of London. And that was an enormously popular storyline.

Couldn't they just have been witnesses of some huge crime, South Africa has a big crime rate I believe, and were forced into Witness protection, both Ian and Ben believe Kathy is dead but when all the crinimals are caught she and Gavin can come out of hiding only to see some powerful scenes between Kathy, Ian and Phil.

But if they were in witness protection why would Ben not be with them?

Incidently, do Ben and Ian ever talk anymore?!

Ian mentioned Ben the other day when discussing Peggy's finances, we haven't seen them together in ages though.

Kathy's choice? Not to confuse a young lad by making him change his name etc

There's no way Kathy can be brought back...unless it was all a bad dream?

I can't think of any pausible storyline which would bring Kathy back, if it was some sort of witness protection programme then Ben would have to be taken into that protection as well, and I can't think of any good reason why Kathy would allow Ben and Ian think she was dead!

There isn't really a place for Kathy in EastEnders now, Ben is settled with the Mitchells and Ian has enough to keep him occupied with Jane and his children.

Sorry, but that is nonsense. Don't you realise how small this world is? It is perfectly feasible for Carol to have become involved with a man her daughter had been with. Bringing a dead Kathy back can't possibly be considered on the same 'far fetched' level.

Kathy is dead, gone and can't be brought back under any circumstances - not without further damage to EE. Remember the awful return of Den Watts?

Kathy turns up at Ian's house.

Ian,"I thought you were dead!"

Kathy,"Well obviously I am not."

Jobs a good 'un.

susan24, the Dan/Carol/Bianca set-up WAS far-fetched IMO.. What were the chances of Dan and Bianca meeting in a club in the West End in 1992, having an affair, and then in 1999 Bianca finds out that Dan, who romanced her mother elsewhere in London, is her stepfather-to-be? Come ON.

Gavin had an affair, his other woman and Kathy had a massive fight in which Kathy was put into a coma. His mistress disguises herself as Kathy (wearing her jewellry and clothes and carrying her passport ect) and they flee the scene with Gavin driving dangerously. He then crashes the car and they both die. His mistress is assumed to be Kathy and the real Kathy remains in a coma for 4 years being mistaken for the other woman. She eventually wakes up and turn up at the Queen Vic and tuns Phil and Ian!

I havent really gave it much thought to be honest

I'd actually accept a Witness Protection style storyline to see Kathy Back on the square, she was such a great character and I personally felt cheated when she "died" off screen.

What reason would she be in witness protection, though?

Probably, but no one can be entirely pleasant 24/7.

Not necessarily. While I'm not saying it could work or is plausible, think about it - if you had to keep your identities hidden etc, and live a life on the run, would you really want your child to have to go through that with you?

I know I certainly wouldn't want to put my kids through that...

(Then again, sending him to Ian or Phil probably isn't much better!)

No I'd rather Kathy came back. If she is to die she should be given a proper death!

Gillian was never told they were killing her off which is a shame as she said she would have come back on BBC Breakfast once.
