Heroes in the UK?

I've been searching everywhere to find a date for the UK showing but can't find anything.

I take this to mean no Heroes in UK this time?

It looks like the BBC has lost interest (as has much of its fan base)

There are certain places to watch it, but the BBC doesnt seem in any hurry to show it this year

is a shame because sky would show it pretty close to the u.s airdate,by the time they do show it people would have lost interest & watched it by some other means.a big show stuck on a shelf isn't doing there ratings anygood

That argument doesn't really fly though, didn't the Beeb air series 3 in the same week as the US earlier this year?

It was appalling and would have shed viewers by the bucket load week-on-week if the quality, and my level of interest, is anything to go by.

Yeah i believe the Beeb did air season 3 very close to the air date.

My level of interest did go down in the product too. Sky probably would air the latest season in the same week, but that doesnt change the fact that a lot of people have gone off the show.

It was within a week as I recall. They really do seem to have dropped the ball on S4, and have treated the remaining fans/viewers rather badly.

I agree that if the Beeb has already paid to show Heroes then it should show it as close to the US transmission date as possible to get maximum viewers.

Aye, i guess there's not as many fans clamouring to see series 4 as 3, so it may not be seen as quite so urgent!

THe Beeb has paid to get first dibs on each series of Heroes, it hasn't paid for exclusivity for "x" amount of seasons or anything like that.

The thing they have to consider is whether or not the number of people keeping interest in Heroes might be improved by something more traditionally suited to primetime BBC2, if the numbers dropped below 2m for a 9pm show that's not good is it?

Would not be at all surprised if series 4 is on BBC3.

Oh, and it's not the BBC letting Heroes fans down, it's Tim Kring and ABC (or is it NBC? I don't know) that make the show.

Agreed with all the posters on this thread. This season of Heroes is terrible and I'd be surprised if the BBC show it all.

They clearly read this forum at the BBC and I reckon it could be down to this fact that it's not being shown.

It'd drop viewers every week if they showed it a few days after they do in America because everyone would download it anyway, just to see how bad it is, then they could be a 'dropped' viewer, telling the BBC - NO MORE!

Tim Kring is DEFINITELY letting Heroes fans in the UK down, no doubt about it. What with his track record of writing a TERRIBLE show, he's more than likely told the BBC not to show it very close to the US broadcast date. I don't know why he'd do it, but then again, with Tim Kirng - who knows!?

If BBC don't want to show Heroes until 2014, then that is the fault of the terrible writers and most notably Tim Kring.

Down with ABC (or is it NBC) for allowing this mess to be made.

I'm off to watch Emmerdale, X-Factor and all those wonderful progammes about ghosts.

A lot of assumptions made in your post.

I doubt Tim Kring (or any other showrunner on any other show) would play any role in the sale of broadcasting rights to the UK, or anywhere else.

I also doubt that the BBC read this forum to determine when to broadcast any show.

I was not aware that Tim Kring and ABC/NBC were involved with the scheduling at the BBC. I thought that he was merely a screenwriter and the creator of Heroes ......

The current series is better than series 2 by a long way... it keeps my interest and I enjoy it.

These days, it is counterproductive to show series in the UK far apart from the US screenings, because people will just download it/copy it/burn it and pass it on.

Comedy Central have this sorted now, and South Park is shown in the UK the day after the US.

I often wonder is the negative people with regard to Heroes watch the same programme as I do. The last episode , for example, was brilliant.

What I mean is that the creative decisions made by Kring and the network have resulted in a major slump in the quality of the show since season1.

The BBC jumped on Heroes after such a promising first season but the slump in quality, and subsequently ratings, since then is bound to make them think twice about spending license payers cash on getting first-week rights on latter seasons, which I guess are more expensive than if they waited a few months.

I've not seen any of season 4 yet, so can't comment on whether or not the quality has improved but I hope it has, Heroes is a fantastic show when it's on form.

Yes they do and it was good because it was basically a first season episode despite some pointless and bizarre additions which nearly derailed the idea

The BBC bought season 3 and 4 sight unseen for an agreed price probably to prevent SKY from sniffing around, not sure if there is a premium for a weeks delay compared to 6 months but the BBC still has first run rights before Scifi begin their PAY run.

Agreed again!

They must have reneged on their 'lifetime rights' deal and I don't blame them one bit! Clearly showing the show so close to its American showing is going to cost more and quite rightly so. I can only imagine how much it cost for Sky to show the final episodes of Stargate SG-1 BEFORE the Americans!!!

It's criminal that the BBC spend our good money on this tripe, when they are perfectly good programme types they could invest in and i'm talking gardening, reality and soap.

Don't get me wrong, i like me scifi, but this, a show about a flying man and a killer added to all the swearing and sex makes my blood boil.

I blame Tim Kring, did i mention that lol

BBC thought they were onto a winner, lets not forget season 1 was really good, its not their fault that T.K and his staff is not capable of writing a good show.

Dunno what's got to A2H, are you okay there?

If there's anything you need to get off your chest just let it out, you'll feel much better.

Perfectly reasonable points, responded to with glib sarcasm, charming!

I'm disappointed! I'm reiterating your points and agreeing with you!

I've finally seen the light over Heroes and your knowledge of the way that importing and buying US TV shows is spot on!

Ignore the naysayers who claim sarcasm, it's not true. I've fought Heroes corner for so long, but when they bought back the milkman who could throw milk around and it looked like the future - it was too much!

PS I've since found out that it's on NBC in America. I mean, how are we supposed to guess between them, their logo in the corner of the downloads is too confusing. They should cancel Heroes and sack Tim Kring lol
