A disgrace the way the BBC showed remembrance Sunday from Afghanistan

Watching BBC News at 6:25am sunday morning,

When news reader said we'll break away from "Click" to cover the one minutes silence from Afghanistan.

John Sopel then appears with the Commander,John Sopel
then trys to conduct start an interview wih the commander as a cannon is fired to starts the minutes silence.

Surely the BBC gallery staff should have switched to Afghanistan earlier than just before the minutes silence was about to begin.

So the BBC was a disgrace. How did the other channels cover it. I doubt GMTV did. Are they more of a disgrace?

Watched the memorial services today and as ever it was very moving.

There's never a right or wrong to these things. It won't stop people celebrating and remebering.

Don't let a BBC mistake get to you.

Sky News had the same feed as BBC News. GMTV do not broadcast any news at weekends. CNN did not cover it but you would hardly expect them to as this is not their remembrance weekend.I fail to see what is a ''disgrace'' about showing this event, I thought it showed considerable enterprise on behalf of the BBC.

Exactly. My thoughts entirely. It sounds the BBC are damned when they do and damned when they don't.

Remembrance coverage

I know it is a bit late in the day, but at last someone has commented about the commercail stations lack of coverage of Remembrance Sunday - minimal to zilch - disgusting. Not much more on the 11th November.

Good old BBC!

I don't think C4 and 5 have ever marked the two minutes' silence as they presumably take the view they are providing alternative programming. But in the past ITV have carried services from other places apart from Whitehall. They seem to have abandoned even this now - do they even have a religious department any more
