Was Lucie having a go at Stacey?

After the judges' verdict, she dropped her Welsh accent completely and put on a creditable stacey impersonation.

Anyone else pick up on that, and if so, what what was it for?

Yeah, straight away I thought she was doing an impression of Stacey. It made me giggle, a lot.

To be fair, perhaps she was just attempting to add a bit of "personality" - but it definitely sounded like Stacey!

Lucie does not need to be anything like Stacey. She is good enough to be herself.

I thought she sounded like an 18 year old very excited that she got her first week of full judgemental praise.

I agree with the judges, Lucie will be the last girl standing.

However, a male vocal will win the X Factor this year.

So Stacey owns the right to be excitable now?

Lucie was kind of channelling Stacey but I got the strange feeling that it was a bit of a joke between the two of them. Of course I may be wrong. And probably am.

That's what I thought, hence the giggling. I don't think any spite was intended at all on Lucie's part. I was highly amused anyway!

Of course not, but can you imagine the comments if Stacey had put on a Welsh accent?

it is very clear to racherl before and to lucie now, that one major factor that keeps sracey alive in the competition is her likable personality and i dont wanna sound mean but i think lucie is one of the most trying hard contestant this year and will do anything to win.... and one of which is outshining her rival stacey by imitating her mannerisms...

It was weird to watch but really noticeable. I kinda wondered whether Lucie (who hasn't really got that much of a strong Welsh accent, IMO. Compare her with Rhydian or Lloyd...theirs is much stronger) has just been spending so much time with Stacey and it's rubbed off a bit? Either that or maybe it's a joke between them. If not, and Lucie was conscious of doing this.....hmmm, not too sweet of her.

Great performance from Lucie last night though. Best singer in the comp., IMO.

It sounded very strange, but i reckon it was a combination of nerves and excitment and also the fact that when you live with someone and spend a lot of time with them you do take on their accents and manerisms. ( When I went to Uni I ended up with a variety of different accents due to friends from all over the UK, 15 years on the accents still come out occassionally totally unconciously! )

Lucies performand and song choice was rubbish. The judges gave her a lifeline but they know her days are numbered. Her main draw (after it became apparent that she could not replicate her initial promise) was her looks and possible sex appeal. But now she looks plump and unappealing. Lucie is on her way out.

She cannot move on the stage, she can only sort of waddle. Staceys voice is purer.

If Lucie outlasted Stacey it would show how much this show has become about being poppy rather than talented...

Maybe she's realised she needs a bit of personality as she's duller than 3 day old dishwater. It did come across as fake though but I agree with those who say she comes across as someone who will do anything to stay in.

AGREE!!!

Sorry to sound mean, but Lucie represents the typical teenage market... dynamic and at the same time tactical.... she will do anything to win this..... I dont wanna judge her but I can see her doing even the indecent ones just to secure a place in the final 4 or 3.... very trying hard

She kept saying "like" all the time and it did remind me of Stacey.

i thought that lucy was doing a stacey too, she was definitely more silly and giggly last night than i would give her credit for

we turned it off in the end

stacey does my head in, she's so irritating!

maybe she's impersonating stacey as she hasn't found her own style yet

i thought lucie's performance flat and boring

Exactly. I said she sounded a bit like her but I don't believe for one second she was trying to. I just think she was excited. All she did was smile and speak quickly because she was excited - is Stacey the only one who is allowed to do this? And her accent wasn't dropped either.

I think it's because she spends sooo much time with Stacey, they are the only two girls left, you can bet that they spend most of their time together, talking about boys, music ect. When you spend time with someone you pick up on traits they have, and with Stacey, well there's a lot to pick up on lol. I have to admit it did come from nowhere, but I didn't really care as I luv Lucie and Stacey. Besides, me thinks more Stacey's are needed in this miserable world.
