This Life

Have just started watching this again on DVD- Such a great show, well written and acted with some great lines.

I declined to buy the reunion episodes they made recently!

Prefer to remember the show as it was back in the late nineties.

Mmmm I always fancied Milly in this. Have never seen the actress Amita Dhiri do anything as good since. In fact it's only Jack Davenport that I would say has maintained good output.

Kira was quite fanciable too, in a fun way.

I loved This Life. I think the very final scene, where Warren comes back is brilliant.

The reunion thing was rubbish. Pah.

I always had a thing for Kira(Luisa Bradshaw-White) ever since Grange Hill.

Is Amita now in The Bill or am I getting confused.

Good series, really gritty for the times.

Loved it and miss it terribly. I did miss out on a few episodes half way through the second series as Sky+ failed but would love to see it again, I hope it gets a repeat viewing on BBC 2 or BBC 3 some time soon.

Daniela Nardini. What a woman. She should be Doctor Who.

One of the best programmes of the decade.

Superb true to life characters and great stories.

The problem the reunion had was that it was a one hour self contained story whereas the origina series never did this. A storyline could dissapear for weeks, or be a very small part of an episode, then become very important.

I re-watched this for the millionth time the other month (my housemate had never seen it!). I loved this show so much back in the 90s.

I actually modelled myself on Anna - how horrendous was I as a 15 year old?!

Warren was a fabulous character and Miles was a gem. The closing scene was one of the best ever in British TV.

The reunion episode was so disappointing, it lost all of the magic.

Oh, and my housemate has reccommended a series called The Secret Life of Us. Apparently, it's This Life-esque. I'm yet to give it a go. Has anyone else seen it? It was an Aussie show.

God I loved This Life. Got the box set with the reunion ep last Christmas and watched them all over about 3 days. The reunion was *shit* as a standalone episode but it was such a lovely thing to have all the characters back for a short while. They were so real that my partner and I would regularly wonder where they are now (especially Anna). Is that really sad? Anyway, don't have to wonder anymore because now we know. And Jack Davenport made a joke about a This Life +20. Only eight years to go.

Anyone who would like to watch this brilliant show again but doesn't want to fork out for the DVD's can watch the entire first series for free on MSN Video Player! Luckily I received an e-mail about the service or I wouldn't have found this out! I'm on episode 3 already and loving it all over again! Just need to find Series 2 somewhere once I'm finished!

(There's also shed loads of other shows on there too for programmes you might not have seen in ages!)

Thanks for that! How random! You would think they would publicise something like that being available, someone must be paying for it

Well it says 'beta' so I guess the service hasn't fully launched yet, but when it does it will be publicised everywhere I guess. It might also be pay, so enjoy it now while you can and watch as much as possible!
