Technisat HDFS not updating

I have a Technisat HDFS that won't update itself to become PVR-Ready. The sw version is 2.41.x.1 (xxx) and when the Technisat first boots up it says it has the latest software. If I do a software update from the menu, it says 'No new software available'.

Can anyone tell me what the sw version is after it's been upgraded to PVR ready or offer any clues?

The latest update is detailed here: http://www.dtg.org.uk/industry/download_schedule.php .It's certainly later than the version that you have installed in your box. I hope that there's not some sort of update issue as I bought one of these boxes yesterday expressly to get the PVR update - I haven't had a chance to unpack it yet though, so I'm not sure but worried that I might hit the same issue.

It might be worth talking to Technisat UK about this, or perhaps doing a factory reset to see what happens.

Done a Reset ... no new download. Also tried another Technisat HDFS and got the same result. The boxes work absolutely fine, it's just that there is no PVR Ready bit.

Will you be trying yours today?

Your geographical location may have a bearing on this matter as I see you are in France. What post code did you use for set up?
Have you had any of the previous updates?
Do you receive the narrowband transmissions from Astra 2d as the updates are downloaded via the BBC multiplex?

Gentlemen
The software has been "pulled" and will be back available within the next 7 days.
It was withdrawn for a commercial reason, there is nothing wrong with it technically.

I am told that the new software which is 1364 will become 1364B

This is pretty annoying. I specifically went to a Currys superstore yesterday to purchase a receiver with a view to setting it up this evening and getting the PVR update. The receiver is of no value to me without it - I have enough receivers already.

This sounds a little bit suspicious to me - what commercial reason can there be for releasing then withdrawing the update? Other PVR manufacturers don't seem to have this issue.

I'll leave the receiver in it's box until the weekend. If the software update hasn't surfaced by then I'll take it back and get a refund.

Pity.

You'll need to bare with them for about a week, as when they submit the software again, it will go into the OTA system first which is where the delay is. The software will be back though, there is no problem with the PVR functionality, just a service that shouldn't have been included!

Technisat HDFS problem

My Technisat HDFS takes five minutes to turn off (go into standby). It says 'Please Wait' on the display. Does anyone else have his problem?

Recordings made on the HDFS can only be played on the HDFS the HDFS that made them. You can share the files over a network no problem.

It's not that BTW.
Think on demand.

Is this with the PVR update, or without? If with, it could be something to do with the external USB device, if of course, you have one connected. If so, disconnect it - does the problem go away?

If you don't have the PVR update hang tight until it's re-released (soon, hopefully - I'm waiting). If you still have issues after that, contact Technisat - the boxes have a three-year warranty.

It's with the PVR update. disconnecting the USB device makes no difference. I am waiting for a response from Technisat.

TechniSat are aware of the problem, interesting that in TechniSat mode the problem does not exist. Also some users have performed a factory reset and the problem has disappeared.

So, presumably, further delays to the re-release of the PVR update.

If true, how long before it actually becomes available?
