Not bad for someone of nearly 82
I thought Brucie's song and dance were great last night. Just think of anyone else you know of that age who could do that, clearly not Andy Williams or some of the others they have had on the show who are 20 years younger (The Bee Gees for example)
Well done Brucie. |

Completely disagree - never could stand Bruce singing. Fast forwarded through most of it. I blame myself for the event because only the other day I said thank goodness Bruce doesn't sing anymore.

I enjoyed it. As OP said, better than some of the guest performers. IMO of course!

I wish he'd stop the dancing - looks like he's got ants in his pants and he's treading on hot coals

I agree with the thread title, it wasn't bad for someone of nearly 82.
Whether a song from a nearly 82-year-old who never had a singing voice is prime time Saturday entertainment, that's another matter entirely. |

It was sad -
and he shouldn't be allowed to do it. Time to retire. Only someone with a giant ego would insist on hamming it up like some old drunk at Christmas.
Stop it Bruce. Go home. |

Considering what the song and dance were in tribute to, i thought it was very appropriate and quite charming. It was a lovely touch and very apt. Considering his age, he did a fab job.

Aw I liked it, brought back memories of watching him on TV when I was a kid! I far prefer him doing a bit of that to the awful jokes and presenting.

At least he doesn't touch up all the young women now.

Funny how peoples perceptions differ. I thought Brucie did ok..not my kind of music, but it suited the time and place. I find the likes of Rod Stewart and Tom Jones (aged64 and 69 respectively) a bit cringe worthy. Sex Gods should know when to hang up their umm...

His little song and dance wasn't so bad, however he looks like he's having a fit at the begining of the show each week before he grabs hold of that troll's leg!

He's fantastic, i wouldnt mind him as a grandad. I know he has his knockers but Bruce is A1 in my book for the time being he is the only one i want to watch presenting SCD, i wouldnt mind him singing everyweek instead of a guest singer of course its Mariah next and she is one of my fave singers of all time

My daughter can't stand him (she's 12 and thinks he's embarassing) but she was very impressed with his singing. She didn't believe it was him singing at first.
She still can't stand him though. I like him |

It's like Strictly Old Codgers with the geriatric Brucie introducing all these old gimmers of past it "stars" such as RodStewart, Andy Williams et al.
Trouble with some show biz types is that they can't let go and interpret the polite applause the audience gives as a sign that they are still good. It's getting really embarassing to watch Bruce struggle through his lame routine. |

Re the thread title -
When Sir Terry Wogan retired from the BBC2 Breakfast Show, he did so on the grounds that (as a mere stripling of 71) - “I don’t want somebody to say — and it won’t happen, because my family wouldn’t let it happen — ‘That Terry Wogan, he’s not bad for his age, is he?’ No, you don’t want that,” http://entertainment.timesonline.co....=1151003209000 |

Sing it again, Bruce!
I thought Bruce had a great show this week. Given the programme was coming from Blackpool, I expected a few hitches from all concerned but it seemed a very smooth programme to me and Mr. Forsyth did himself proud with that song. I'm looking forward to his end-of-series song and dance routine.
