It's not even that, it's a long discontinued non-Sky HD box - that was sold off by Pace at considerably less than that price. All support is long ended, and they don't even get ITV HD (such as it is).

There are NO Freeview HD boxes or TV's, and unlikely to be any until 2010.

Yeh Granda hasn't gone HD.
They've just swapped some channels around and removed so to make room for HD eventually.

Are you aware of any manufacturers' plans for Freeview HD TVs? I was wondering if I would be able to get one before the VAT goes back up!

Not many people are going to be able to receive the service when it launches in December.

Sony are rumpoured to be one of the first for IDTV's, and Pace for set-top boxes - but probably not until after the VAT increase.

I don't think any are, as their is no product available.

Even if you could get one before the end of the year you would pay a high early adopter premium for it.

Best to wait a while for the products to mature and prices to drop. The saving will likely be a lot more than the little bit of extra vat.

AFAIK there are NO freeview HD boxes out there.

What Satellite has reviewed a Sangem HD freeview receiver but this must have been tested with the French freeview HD system ???

So no actual HD transmissions until the Sping then ? We are so behind with all this

What makes you think that?, transmissions start early December.

No, far in advance, we had HD well before the French - terrestrial HD was never planned for, it's a seriously poor and limited idea.
