Amazing Song Intros
It occured to me that the intro to "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith (the few seconds before he starts singing) is amazingly haunting and brilliant.
What other song intros are great? |

Michael Jackson - Billie Jean. The intro is amazing (and so is the rest of the song!)

A little bit more strung out but Knights Of Cydonia and Take A Bow by Muse both have cracking intros.
A "haunting" one could be On Top Of The World by Jem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STNzD2-aReM ofcourse if you wanted a full song that is haunting then you have Inner Child by Mike Oldfield http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baCx2FlYPBE |

Hysteria also has an amazing intro; that bass is just awesome. Also, many a Cure song, as someone else suggested, especially for me Disintegration, In Between Days and Pictures of You. I would also add Radiohead's Nation Anthem and Just. |

Queen have many a good intro too (kinda giving that mantel over to Muse
).Songs like Bohemian Rhapsody, I Want To Break Free, One Vision, A Kind Of Magic etc. As well as many album tracks too. |

The Sun Always Shines On TV by A-Ha. Having this on my CD player with my 11 speakers on full blast just blows me away. Even though it was released in 1985, it still sounds as fresh today if not better

Requiem: Killing Joke (Crank it up for best effect!)
No More Heroes: The Stranglers (Makes the hairs on the back of my neck tingle) Pretty Vacant: The Sex Pistols (Simple but brilliant. Really brilliant.) Song to the Siren: This Mortal Coil (Mesmerising from the off) (White Man) in Hammersmith Palais: The Clash (Hard to pick just one intro from the Clash, because so many of them are great, but this just nicks it for me) |

I like Mariah Carey's MTV unplugged version of Emotions. Spine tingling vocals (for me anyway), and stirring backing singers.

Many songs from genius Jeff Buckley's album Grace have fantastic intros.
Grace, Last Goodbye, well almost all of them in fact. |

Pokerface - Lady GaGa. The best bit of this song is by far the intro.
