Legend of the Seeker - Season 2 - US PACE

Hey All

Legend of the Seeker returned to US screens yesterday.

Last year it was only a handful of us watching at US Pace, but with Series 1 already having aired on UKTV, perhaps there will be more of us watching at US pace this year.

Ive already obtained my episode for viewing this evening. Like Merlin, its the perfect weekend evening fantasy show.

Anybody already watched the opening to series 2??

I loved it, mainly because we got to see Lord Rahl again who I thought was dispatched far so easily in last season's finale.

So.....Keeper vs Seeker. Interesting.

Plus its always nice to see Charisma Carpenter again.

This show, along with NCIS, are IMO, the 2 most unrated shows on TV right now.

That was great. I wondered how they would refresh this show after killing lord Rahl. But they have set out what looks like a very interesting storyline.
My only criticism is they killed Charisma Carpenter off way too quickly. We can only hope that one of her Mord Sith sisters was nearby to breathe new life into her. Trianna was a great character, seems a waste to only have her in one episode.
Was that really Zed's friend (forget her name) telling him the prophesy? Or an agent of the Keeper in disguise fooling him into naming a new Seeker? Don't think Zed went to read it for himself...

Looking forward to next episode...

I just had an wicked thought
Can't Mord Sith block magic? Confessor magic too I think (can't remember). If so, then a threesome of Richard, Kahlaan and Cara has a certain logic to it...

i just saw this earlier today and loved it, the mord sith are a good enemy and visually very pleasing too

i like the actress that plays Cara! Richards and her relationship will interesting to watch this season as for Charisma Carpenter she was okay but i just didn't buy her as a mord sith so far but as stated above lets hope that the other mord sith are near and revive her as there is potential for her to be the big bad this season

I've just watched the first ep of season 2. Very glad this is back at last

Nice to see Darken Rahl is still in it, even though he's dead. I thought Craig Parker did a good job as Rahl in season 1.

Always good to see the lovely Charisma Carpenter in something. Pity she's dead already though (unless revived).

Can't see Kahlan being too happy at Cara joining the gang...

From what I've read, this season will be loosely following the second book, "The Stone of Tears".

I wonder if/when Richard will accept his lineage & take control of D'Hara?

Very good opening episode - they do have a very large budget per episode and I think it showed. Good quality.

And pleased to see they haven't discarded of Rahl - there was clearly more to do with that character.

Excellent start to the new season I thought! I think they have managed to refresh the whole story quite well, and I like the introduction of the new quest!

As last season, Im really enjoying the cinematography on the show - beautiful locations which only serve to enhanve the show!

Any readers of the novels might want to clear whether they are following on with Book 2 loosley as they did for season 1 or is this an independent story completely different from the books now??

On another note, is it just me or has the show toned up a bit this year?? Last year there were always sexual undertones, but the opening episode featured a girl-on-girl remark and an explicit klesbian kiss Was quite surprised considering the show airs in the states in syndie during Saturday afternoons!!!!!! And also, the mention of the word "Bastard" during the opening minutes!

Well book 2 is called 'Stone of Tears' and is about a rift in the veil to the underworld, so it seems likely.

Not read the 2nd book but the basic idea seen in the show that The Keeper of the Underworld is the Big Bad and the Stone of Tears (name of the book) is required to stop him is the same.

It is only very loosely based on the second book by the sounds of it. I havent seen any of the second season yet but from what I've read it doesnt follow too closely.
Richard, Kahlan and Zedd all spend the majority of the book apart and Cara doesnt feature heavily until book 3.

Whoa! That was dark! And perfect Sunday morning entertainment.

This episode (Baneling) must rival Die Hard 2 for the dead body count.

I like the conflict which the presence of Cara is bringing to the show as well.

Excellent 2nd episode that!

The show has certainly shifted more towards the darkness this year. Even children are being killed and what a good twist that was at the end of the episode!

Again, more usage of sex in the show, making series two more adult and darker without doubt.

Also enjoying the fact that Cara is bringing a new element to the group and will no doubt be the cause of inner conflict as the second series progresses.

The budget has definitely been increased. I get a sense we are seeing more expensive scenery / landscape shots this year, which is brilliant, cos the setting for the show is a major asset!

Looking forward to episode 3. Legend has actually become one of my fave shows this season, even outranking the disappointing V and Flash Forward!
