I've been watching old episodes and I can;t recognise it, it was in 1986.

If I recall it was in Ethel's flat above the doctor's surgery.
All the flats along that side of the Square were converted back into houses after a while so all look completely unrecognisable to the flats that they first were when the programme started. |

Do you mean Mary and Annie?
It was in a bedsit in the same block as Sue and Ali and then later Pat and I think this was where Reg Cox was found dead in the very first episode |

The house where Reg Cox was found dead is now the Slater house, number 23 Albert Square
http://www.bbc.co.uk/eastenders/places/ Pete, Kathy and Ian Beale lived in the towe block located in the background behind the car lot |

so it must have been the Slater's house which was once split into the bedsits? I always wondered which one it was. I remember about the Beale's living in the tower block, I always thought it was strange that no other residents lived there as well. Which one was the flats which Den bought for Michelle and Sharon and that Grant bought and converted back into a house? |

The Slater house used to be 2 flats - I think Sue and Ali Osman lived upstairs and Reg Cox downstairs, Max and Tanya's place and Minty's used to be bedsits - which Tony Carpenter began repairing, Dr Legg and ethal lived next to these
In the early years the Square only had 3 sides - so the Trueman's/Foxes, Massoods and Ians old place in Victoria Road weren't seen originally. Also I think pats place was a later addition - I think we first saw this when Vicar Alex/Mel lived there |

So Mary and Annie must have moved into Reg Cox's old home? because I remember when Hassan died through cot death Sue was tormented by the sound of baby Annie crying and developed a bit of an unhealthy attachment to her

Mary and Annie lived at 23b Albert Square (upstairs). Sue and Ali Osman lived downstairs for the first year before Dot moved in and the Osmans moved in to one of the flats behind the Vic. I think Pat lived in one of those flats as well after moving out of the Vic. She and Mary were quite close too, Pat was her pimp for a while
![]() The flats above the doctor's surgery were occupied by Lofty and Simon (1b) and Ethel (1c). Next door to them were the Carpenters. Dr Legg lived away from the Square, as did the Beales who lived in the tower block that can be seen behind the car lot. Naima and Saeed lived in one of the flats behind the Vic, and Debbie and Andy lived in the downstairs flat of No. 43, now occupied by Ryan and Janine. |

Mary lived in 23b - what's now upstairs at the Slaters. She took the flat/bedsit over from Reg Cox, who was murdered by Nick Cotton.
Pat's lived just about everywhere in Albert Sq - though in the early days, I think she lodged at the Vic, then briefly lived in Ethel's flat when Ethel went into sheltered housing. I pressume she was living there during the Walford attacker storyline (late 86/early 87), as she was walking through the gardens at the time of the attack. |

Den bought 43a for Sharon and Michelle after no.43 was converted into flats. Phil later bought upstairs and Grant bought downstairs and put in a connecting door, but the building remained as 2 flats. No.43 was originally occupied by Debs and Andy - but it was a house in those days. |

Pete and Kathy lived in the tower block just off the square from when the show started right up until they separated in 1989 when Kathy moved onto the square and i think Pete remained in their flat. The tower block was featured in recent years when Demi Millers boyfriend lived in the flats with his parents. also when Tanya was searching for her sister and sure she visited their old home which was also one of the flats.

They didn't kill her off, she left the Square with Annie, to get away from her mother I think, who was trying to move in and take care of Annie, they left via bus which made a nice change from the back of a black cab!
