Billy Mitchell is dead wood

I think the character of Billy Mitchell has run its course and the character should be axed. He gets poor storylines and it seems like the scriptwriters don't know what to do with the character.

Personally, I think Billy should have been axed last year when his on-screen wife Honey was axed.

What are your views about Billy Mitchell? Should he stay or should he go?

Billy has never been liked by the Mitchells (Peggy and Phil are forever slagging him off).

Billy is like a lost soul these days and I don't know what else can be done for him.

Personally I wouldn't be bothered if he left but if they were to bring Honey back I'd be glad for him to stay. They've tried giving him a family with Jay and it has worked to an extent, but I just can't see the reasoning for getting rid of Honey. Hopefully Kirkwood will bring her back when he takes over.

If they plan on having him cry anytime soon, then he has to go go.

That's one good thing about him, I'd rather be loathed by those cretins than liked.

I don't think there is much chance of Honey Mitchell being brought back, though I confess that I was surprised when she was axed last year. Same with Yolande Trueman.

I always thought Honey and Yolande would be around for decades!

Emma Barton was one who had pledged her future to the soap I think, so her axing was definitely a shock.

I was unhappy when Yolande was axed but tbh I haven't missed her as much as I thought I would. Patrick's actually flourished as a character without her and he's had a lot of screentime this year which is pleasing.

The worst axing decisions of last year were Honey, Keith and Mickey. I know Darren has came into his own recently but he needs some sort of family around him, especially when the truth about baby George comes out.

I was glad to see the back of Keith and Mickey Miller. It's a shame Darren wasn't axed with them. I was also glad to see the back of Gus.

Billy has become a loner and never has anything to do. The character is lost without his on-screen family, which is why I think he should be put out to pasture.

Patrick will more than likely be around for a few more years yet, but I do miss Yolande.

I like Jay, but if Billy goes then Jay would have to go with him, but I guess Jay could return next year (when he turns 16 and is free do wo what the hell he likes!).

Unless they bring back Honey, he should go. He's just going round in circles and I'm getting bored of seeing him need money/a place to stay.

I find Billy to be one of the most depressing characters in soap. I would not miss him at all if he went.

Dunno about anyone else but I was shocked to the core when he celebrated his 50th birthday.
50?
Doesn't look a day over 40 IMO except for the wrinkly neck.
I quite like the character though, and would like to actually see something go ok for him for a change. In reality, most people whose lives are such a misery as his have such lives because of alcohol, or drugs or some other root cause which the person is unable to fight, but for Billy it just seems like an inordinate amount of bad luck, and life doesn't really do that to too many people - peaks and troughs.
Billy's peaks have been far to few.

I don't want Billy to go, I think there is more that can be done with him I like the relationship he has with Jay, part father, part friend, part big brother, but I wish they would give him a job which wasn't connected to the Mitchell family, I liked it when he was in charge of the video shop but even that was taken away from him by Phil

I'm not that bothered about Billy, but for some reason I'd be sad to see him go. I really do think they should bring back Little Mo and get her and Billy back together. They were so sweet together.

I hope he doesn't get killed off because I'll feel bad when nobody turns up for the funeral. He should go, yes. Completely pointless now.

I think they ruined him when they axed Honey and she took the children when she left,it rendered him a bit pointless.

I think Honey and the children leaving sort of paved the way for Jay to live with Billy, although he could have still done that because Jay and Honey always got on very well on account of her friendship with Jason, it would have been nice to see Jay in a proper family intead of just drifting between people he hardly knows, even his father was a stranger to him at first, as well as his grandfather
