V+ Default Volume control on samsung Box - V+ HD

Hi Guys,

The ir sensor has stopped working on my LG TV so i cant control the volume i was hoping to reset back to the old yellow bars that control the volume box that used to show up. however im aware that this cant be done when on HDMI im using a Scientific Atlantic box. So the question is on the new samsung box can i control the box volume on hdmi or can this only be done when on scart.

STB volume control is through scart only on both boxes.
