I get a feeling their backlash is going to get a whole lot worse now and it's not even their fault.

Some of the things people are calling them on my facebook are disgusting and I wonder if people actually think before they say (or type in this case) things.

I felt sorry for them on XTra Factor. They're probably friends with Lucie, due to their similar age, and realise now that the papers will turn on them. Felt really sorry for them.

I wanted them to win, but I am so angry, I can't believe it. The backlash is going to be horrible, I can't believe anyone is happy with this decision and Cowell trying to worm his way out of it is pathetic.

Dannii should quit, and the twins should walk, and Jamie, and all of them in fact.

7 contestants left and three of them Simon's. **** off.

Every paper has always reported everyone (apart from Orange Frog Friedman) saying how hard Jedward work and how nice they are.

They're going to get ripped apart by people and it's not their faults. They're nice lads and they look like they don't know what to do. Dannii going on about "whoever's a good singer"....what the HELL, is it Jedward's fault? NO!

Grr. Well done to Lucie for sticking up for them.

I am actually really concerned for them...I do love them, but it's clear that they are being used by Simon for more publicity and it's obviously really affected them! Have they learned nothing after Susan Boyle? These are two young guys and the way they have been used and treated is disgusting.

So sad when they were crying... and was it just me or did the audience laugh at something one of them said? Awful.

It's not J&E's fault that they are being exploited by Cowell and if the heat gets too much for them he is solely to blame!

They asked what backlash was when Dermot asked if they were worried about, and everyone laughed at them.

All the low life out there criticisng them should really be criticising the public - its the public's fault Lucie went as she got the fewest votes.

Lucie came bottom of the vote - deal with it people.

But that isn't their fault either!! They only entered a competition, its not their fault they got this far.

I think Holly said somthing along the lines of are you scared of the backlash you will receive, and edward (?) in a very very upset, shocked and confused voice repeated backlash..and some extremely disgusting people started laughing at him...God that was awful to watch

, as was watching Lucie cry to be fair.

If you mean on Xtra factor - they actually looked a bit shocked I think it was a very nervous laught.

Simon Cowell is the villain not the twins - the contestants are just pawns to him. Why was he again the last judge to give his decision or rather once again allow it to go to the public vote. The whole thing is beginning to feel too stage managed - SC's massive ego is killing this show for me.

I got the impression (like you I think) that he repeated it not because he didn't know what backlash meant (which was why some t**ts laughed in the audience) but because it was something that hadn't occured to him would happen, I felt like crying and it really brought home to me how much they are being exploited by both Simon and Louis. I'm actually concerned for them now. They're just kids.
