Failed recording due to no signal

I have recently been getting failed recordings (over the past 2 days) and further info says, there was no signal

I tried to record 2 programs together at the same time, but only one would record, so I have looked at settings/signal, and it seems that I have only a second feed as the first feed does not show either signal strength or signal quality

I have no idea why this has suddenly occurred, but have turned the HD box off for a while and will see if it helps.

As its a Thompson box, I'm not sure if its something to do with the capacitors, I have been reading about

Just an update, I've now switched the box back on, and both signals are visible......for now, so it looks like I've been lucky

Failed capacitors are not the only cause of problems. The new EPG is full of bugs that causes spurious no signal problems on all makes of box.

I discounted that as you had said you had turned the box off. Or by that did you just mean turn it to standby?

Anyway you now know a bit about the thomson PSU problems. If it happens again it would be worth checking the PSU out. It's not something to be afraid of, and when the PSU is upgraded the thomson box is usually pretty good and reliable.
