Keisha vs Jade - Music

I have just listened to Jade's and Keisha's version of the new Sugababes song About a girl and to me personally Keisha's version is much better. What do other people think?? It's a shame what happened to Keisha but now im thinking Jade isnt vocally suited to the Sugababes as Keisha was.

Keisha's vocals are too weak, the Sugababes needed a good singer and Jade Ewen fits the bill. Also, I think Jade's vocals mesh better with the song.

I think it's unfair to compare the two, to be honest - especially given how some people's opinions are biased by their own opinions of what happened to Keisha. I think they are good singers and I've been really impressed by Jade. I wish Keisha the best of luck and hope Jade will be a success with the Babes.

I kind of prefer Keisha's version, because she's got a more distinctive voice, but then I prefer Jade as a person and she's got a good voice too - so I like both.

Keisha made it would like the Sugababes, Jade makes it sound like some random dance track you would get in the charts. Nothing new and unoriginal...at least with Keisha's voice is was different to anything else you heard. The sugababes were known for being original and distinctive...neither of which they are now.

I agree with this post, I'm not saying Jade sounds bad, it's just that there's nothing particuarly distinctive about her vocals, there's a lot of girls who sound just like her.

On that note, I definitely prefer Keisha's version.

I agree with this completely. Jade's version in 'comparison' doesn't have much character. Her voice doesn't stand out at all unlike Keisha's.

I saw the new sugababes on Xtra Factor the other night, and they all seemed quite devoid of personality and chemistry. I don't envisage the band lasting much longer.

Keisha's always been my favourite sugababe because of her unique and powerful voice. I do think Jade is a good singer but not quite the same level as Keisha. About A Girl suits Keisha's voice better imo.

Couldn't care either way. Keisha's presence on the track isn't a difference. I am over her not being in the band. I just can't wait to see her go solo and see what she treats us fans too.

granted I never saw any performances after your country needs you, but Jade was terribly out of tune on a lot of the songs she sang on that show.

I've seen the Sugababes live twice, three tour and the taller in more ways tour and Keisha was excellent. In fact Heidi, Mutya and Keisha were all fantastic, couldn't say the same about Amelle however she had only just joined so i give her a by ball for that but the Sugababes were brilliant live. Can't say i would waste the money nor even have the chance to waste the money (i don't think they'll sell enough to tour this album) on this new line up (who aren't the sugababes btw).

Uh if you actually read the post i said i had give her a by ball as she had only just joined and was singing vocals BELONGING to Mutya, none of the stuff on the Taller in More Ways tour was Amelle's and let's be honest Mutya sings Amelle out of the park so she could never compare.

Totally agree, I don't like to make comparisons because they are both brilliant vocalists in their own ways but Jade absolutely killed it (in a good way) and is definitely a stronger vocalist than Kesiha.

It's got nothing to do with Alexandra

And with the way the X-factor is playing out this year who knows what would have happened had they both been in the same show. I actually think Jade is more suited to being in a group and it is a good move for her. I would have been upset whoever had replaced Keisha. I did say I havent seen her perform since she was on the show and I heard from certain people that she has improved a lot. Keisha herself is a good singer but not fantastic, however I just prefered her version of about a girl to Jade's, prehaps its because I am used to that version.

I think you are just gutted that JLS did not sell more copies of thier single last week than Cheryl or Alex
