Can you imagine Cowells face if this turned into a PR disaster and everyone switched off from the show.

I am so tempted to not watch next weeks show out of pure disgust and anger.

This show is a travesty!

Simon Cowell knows John & Edward in the show means ratings.

I can't watch, mainly because I'm indifferent to the seven remaining acts, but I doubt there'll be a significant impact, ratings'll still be high and a lack of SCD clash will probably help

I'm not so sure. I am - sorry, was - a huge fan of this show but tonight, sorry. What just happened has actually left me genuinely disgusted with the state of the world.

The greedy sod has made the biggest mistake of his life. He was trying to cash in on The Twins publicity. He hated them until he found every newspaper was covering them. He deserves all he gets. Thousands will turn off now.

Yeah not likely to happen. If J&E are in the bottom 2 again tho' they will go for def.

Anyway next Sun sees the Dr Who special and the return of I'm a celeb which is of more interest to me.

I expect Danni to be the first judge to lose all acts first now

It's the only way it would have any effect on Mr Cowell, if no one spoke about XFactor or voted and viewing figures plummetted he'd soon take it off the air...... all publicity is good publicity.

I was absolutely convinced she had a winner in her category.

You really think so? I doubt it very much. Ratings will be sky high next week.

Biggest mistake of his life?? LMAO.

Great decision by a guy who knows what he is doing!

I WILL be switching off, I won't be watching the rest of the series. Not because of Simon's decision BUT because of his poor explanation which assumed we are all stupid!

That won't happen now thanks to Simon. Had Jedward gone, that would have happened.

Well in, Simon

Even if they do (which they won't imo) then err...it won't make a difference. Ratings are calculated using samples so it is not really truly representative of the whole population. The percentages are then scaled up.

People are annoyed right now but they will still watch next week. I don't know why everyone is so surprised anyway, Simon has based his vote purely on what will create the most publicity for his show. He said that he didn't think Lucie was going to win (he clearly wants a male winner this year) so should he keep her in and have her leave 3rd/4th/5th place (+ minimal publicity), or keep John and Edward in and get all the headlines tomorrow morning?

The remaining acts received the most votes so I imagine that not many will switch off.
