It isn't an X Factor series if we haven't heard...

A performance of 'One Moment Of Time'. No matter if it is song choice, survival, or the auditionees.

Add 'I Will Always Love You' & 'Without You' to the list

'hero' is also a song I associate strongly with the x factor.

Reminds me of one of the early auditions.

Contestant: "I'm going to sing X"
Simon, disillusioned: "Oh, we don't like X, don't you have another song"
Contestant: "er, er, one by mariah care..."
Simon, getting his groove on, nodding confidently: "Mariah Carey, that'll do, yeah!"

'And I'm Telling You' seems to be the new X Factor standard as well. I can't count how many times we heard in the auditions, boot camp and then Danyl did it in the live shows.

Completely agree - forgot that one Agent F. Jade sung it TWICE in auditions, how ridiculous is that? Alexandra Burke sung the same Whitney song for 2005 and 2008.

Gotta love the big diva ballads.

Shame we didn't have anyone in the lives this year with a big booming voice to do them justice, shame on you Simon for leaving Nicole out.

I hated Nicole at Dannii's house. She seemed like she'd mucked up on purpose.

When the judges on the VT say something along the lines of 'If he/she pulls it of tonight, it'll be brilliant. If he/she doesn't, it'll go disastrously wrong'. Just seems so dramatic sometimes lol.

Haha yeah, I love that
"It could either be amazing, or a complete disaster"
And then the contestant comes out and, what do ya know, it's amazing! (Sometimes )

Same way they always show the contestants messing up/looking stressed/forgetting words etc. in their VTs, then they give a stellar performance

Why do they have to be so dramatic?

It's funny isn't it lol . I think they do it to keep people in their feet and leave them wondering whether they'll hit the big note, remember the words etc. It's just most of the time the performance is fine, or not as disastrous or brilliant as they make out it could be in those VT's lol.

You are most definitely correct!
I think we, as an audience, love the idea that something could go wrong. The dancers could drop someone, or they might forget the words or something terrible will happen.
The idea that there's even a chance that could happen makes for great telly
And then, when nothing does go wrong, we're even more impressed

Just remember - Hurt is another one that's been over used the last few series too.
