JLS No 1 on iTunes

Is this correct? Are JLS outselling Leona isn't this their 2nd week? Surely that can't be a good sign.

I was thinking the same. Not a great indication for Leona is it?

JLS were at Number 1 on the Sunday before they even performed on The X Factor. I'm pretty sure that was the case with Cheryl and Alexandra too.

I don't get your point. Is being #2 on itunes considered a flop then?

Hang on though isn't the XF performance the thing that boosts the sales the most if it hasn't hit the top spot by now its pretty doubtful it will with more time.
Have to admit am pretty surprised by this I can't say I like either of them but expected Leona to go straight to number 1.

I wouldn't read too much into that.
According to the iTunes watchers on here, Laura White was heading for number 15 or 16.
In the actual chart, she made number 32!

Ground breaking stuff. And that matters why? I guess your hinting at her career being on a downward spiral. Oh the joy that would bring to some of you. Don't get your party poppers out just yet!

Out of interest, why do you want her to fail so badly? I mean I can totally understand Leona not being your cup of tea but why revel in someone elses mis-fortune?

Btw, for those of you who care to do your research. Happy was released to itunes less than 30 hours ago, itunes is a 48 hour rolling chart. Thus Leona has 18 hours less sales than JLS. Which equates to over 1/3 extra. As you can tell by the popularity bars JLS's lead is far less than that. Also there are 3 different versions of Happy on itunes. One of which is floating around the 30's, all versions of the song are added together to make the final total sales.

So, basically, its not as clear cut as JLS #1 and Leona #2. Either way it makes no odds. Leona has an album full of potential hits. But hey why be positve about something when it gives you far more pleasure to critisize.

I do.

I like her. I'm not her biggest fan in the world (I think you've got that one covered) but I do like her. I'm just surprised she isn't at Number 1 either. Although the song isn't brilliant IMO. Number 2 is respectable if not disappointing for Leona's lead single. We'll see how it pans out across the week though.

Wow defensive much - who said I wanted her to fail?

Merely pointing out that JLS were outselling her.

For the record richie i don't actually want Leona to fail - I don't care enough. I honestly am surprised as much as the songs not my cup of tea but I expected her to go to number 1 this week just like I expect her album will be.

Not even hinting at a downward spiral either - where did i predict it was all over for her now?

Interesting when the shoes on the other foot hey I bet if she was outselling everyone else by a million you and some of the other Leona fans would be on here crowing about it.

Well I didn't see you commenting on how Bon Jovi didn't make #1 last week. Everytime something even remotely negative happens or looks like happening to Leona you seem to be there rubbing your hands together. Maybe im wrong about that, if so I appolagize it just seems that way.

Btw Leona could be on course to sell a million copies of Happy this week and you wouldn't catch me rubbing it in people's faces. All I care about is the music. Echo is a massive step up from Spirit. Im proud of that not chart positions. Yes its nice to get a #1, but when you see songs like Boom Boom Pow topping the charts for months on end, its really not an indication of great music.

When it comes to Leona just after an X Factor performance, #2 behind last year runners-up second week sales is not what was expected, particularly because JLS new single isn't that strong, not nearly as strong as the first one.

But she is not flopping, nor failing, and her career is not over, etc.. . I'll bet that her album will sell well.

To be fair, i don't take itunes seriously anymore. The majority of JLS fans seem to buy their songs in bulk.

It's not the best sign, but she should have a physical advantage that should hopefully see off JLS and get her to the top of the charts, she's closing in on them still anyway
