Ruth has signed a 3 million deal with EMI records (Robbie's label) and is recording her album now. It will be out next year. Too early to judge her.

I was wondering if Simon had got permission because was a small clip of Prince singing it on the programme, does anyone recall the same thing last year?

I had called him an idiot about it, as I felt it would get less views for Danyl if it was going to be taken down everytime, so getting permission made sense. Maybe they weren't quite aware of the power of Ytube last year as they are this year, but last year that song must have been in their song choice list or not? For Ruth it was a singoff song, but for Danyl he did it as a main song.

Thats what im wondering too, Could it be his looks as there is massive thread. The ruth version was the best one i have ever heard of that song and Danyl's is just abysmal. I destest his version so much.

Why shouldn't he be on the show? He's one of the most talented, if not the most talented, singers there.

If it is, Youtube still haven't updated their content recognition filters. I tried nicking that Dailymotion vid and putting it on Youtube recently, but still got the copyright flag.

It applies to a lot of stuff from last year's X-Factor. I tried to upload Beyonce's X-Factor performance too and got the same result.
