Why don't we just vote on who we want OUT?

Simon's hypocrisy, BS and lies aside, why are we voting for who we want to win so early on?

Surely to avoid ridiculous decisions such as last night, it would be best for people to vote on who they want to go, right through to the final, when we would THEN vote on who we want to win??

Simple. You may have to vote for more than one to eliminate someone you don't like.

I presumed it was because actually being voted off or being one of the 2 people most wanted out would affect the self-esteem of the poor singers.

The show would take yet another step towards morphing into Big Brother if this was the case. We already have the OFCOM brigade and the booing crowd...

ARGH!!!

I HATE this question. It's been asked sooooooooo many times.

Please follow me...

Most LIKED is not the same as LEAST DISLIKED.

You could be the most popular act if say 54 out of 100 people love you. You could also be the most disliked act if the other 46 had you as their least favourite.

In a vote to save, you'd sail through with 54% of the votes. In a vote to eliminate you'd be out on your arse with 46%.

As the X Factor is:

a) looking to make money from votes
b) looking to make money in record sales

It makes sense to
a) keep in the acts people like so they vote more, if they did it the other way we'd end up with all the acts people didn't care enough about to vote out in the final. Viewing figures would be awful and no one would vote.
b)If the winner is just the least offensive person (a la bloody Rachel Rice from BB9) then they won't make much impact in the music business.

That is why!

In summary:

That way of voting gets rid of all the marmite characters rather than people the public just don't like.

This way, it's the people the public couldn't be arsed to vote for.

Maybe just scrap the judges vote if you wanna stop the manipulation?

Getting rid of the judges' vote won't stop the manipulation, just the more obvious side of it.

They can't scrap that easily though because it is part of the format change that allowed the show to get the go ahead.

What they should do I think is if it goes to deadlock is let the studio audience decide

A negative vote means that boring acts will get to the final. Big Brother proves that.

It also means that it is even easier to pull off a betting sting.

What part of the audience?

Some acts have more family than others there.

Because if that was the case Danyl would be out despite being in the top 2 contestants this year
