Spare Sky Subscription Cards
Hi,
I'm off on holiday in a few days and would like to use the Sky box at my friend's villa (It's an old sky box that has been overseas for some time). I don't think there's a viewing card but I have an old freesat card (blue card yellow house) that I'll take with me just in case (but I know there may be issues now that the white cards have been issued). As an alternative I'm wondering about subscribing to one of the channels that send you an extra card (do they still do that? ) and cancel the subscription when we get back. Does anybody know if this will still work? If so can you recommend a channel that will supply a spare card (preferably not porn.....) Cheers Dave |

You can use the sky box WITHOUT a card and get all the free to air channels, BBC, ITV, channel 4, five etc (though you may have to use Other channels for five)
Taking your freesat from sky card will only add fiver, fiveUSA, sky3 and Viva to the available free channels. If the box has previously been used with a new white card, then it may no longer recognise the old blue card. There are also reports from some of the blue cards starting to be turned off. |

When I take my multiroom white card to my parents, I can view all channels with the exeption of Sports and Movies, but thats fine.

Do you intend to watch Fiver, Five US and Sky 3? Cos these are the only three channels which require a viewing card to watch on an unsubscribed Sky box. All others are accessible without a viewing card of any kind.
