EastEnders Libby and University

What is going on with Libby in EastEnders? She left for uni a few weeks ago but returned after just a couple of weeks, she’s now gone back but presumably she will be returning again later this month for Denise’s wedding.
Do you think the producers regret sending her off to university? She was on the show for 3 years and apart from Owen trying to drown her she has done absolutely nothing but now the character is suppose to be away at uni they have finally got some interesting storylines for her such as:
Her psycho murdering step-dad.
The return of her dad and grandma.
The fact her boyfriend now has a secret love child as a result of cheating on her.
And

spoiler:
That her dad is going to be murdered by her step-dad!

With all this going on it should have been Libby that failed to get into Oxford and remain on the square not Tamwar because he is still doing nothing. What does everyone think?

It is true.

I think it's realistic to have Libby go off to Oxford. We still see her around so it's nice to know a character has a life outside Walford!

I wonder if a lot of people have forgotten how vile Owen was when he was beating Denise and she was spitting teeth out

Since his return he has seemed quite reasonable and calm in comparison to Lucas who appears more manic by the day!

I'd say beating your partner day in, day out and then drowning your own child is just as bad as accidently killing your ex-wife and leaving her to die. Infact, I'd say it was worse...

At least Owen knows he's bad, so to speak, Lucas thinks he's doing gods work.

Equal, not lesser, and not worse. However, Lucas' upcoming storyline makes him worse.

and its only a 90 minutes drive away too - so perfectly feasible for someone to keep coming back!

I know people who live in Oxford and take the Oxford Tube (bus) to London and back every day for work. Lots of them.

No it's worse. Lucas didn't actually kill Trina if he reported the incident to the police straight away he would not have been found guilty of murder. He's placed himself in a situation where people won't believe the truth however.

That doesn't compare to beating the tar out of your wife and trying to murder you daughter to spite the mother.

Lucas killing him isn't exactly the right thing to do, but in my eyes he's doing the job the justice system should have done.

Owen has served his prison sentence and therefore no longer needs to be punished. Lucas however has killed his own sons mother ok it was an accident that he pushed her but he didnt help when she begged him to and he covered his tracks by injecting her dead body with heroin which makes him extremely guilty.

Totally agree with your post.

Owen has done his time, now he deserves a second chance. Whatever punishments get thrown at him, you can see in his face they'll never be as bad as the punishments he puts himself through every day

Lucas is guilty of Trina's death. He could have saved her, instead he sat outside till she was dead, then proceeded in covering up any involvement he had with her, lied to his son, tried to frame Denise in front of Chelsea, not forgetting he stood back as the police took Denise in for questioning and did nothing to help her

Now he's actually going to

spoiler:
kill Owen

Whatever Owens faults were, he was never an out and out killer and has made no secret of his faults. He was an acoholic, thats no excuse, but he knows he did wrong.

Lucas believes he is doing Gods work.

Is 3 years really fitting for an ex-con (i think) who committed GBH and attempted murder? If you ask me Owen was let off the hook too lightly..And why is every blood thirsty for lucas to get his comeupance when so far he has only accidently killed someone, who lets face it was going to kill herself one way or another..This storyline with owen hasnt even played out yet, for all you know Owen might snap at some point and need to be handled..Lets wait and see before throwing stones

I hope they axe her when it comes out about Darren. I like the Fox's but she is so stale. Chelsea and Denise have a better relationship and more to offer. Plus Denise's sister Kim Fox and her boyfriend Dexter are so truly amazing that viewers will be calling for them to be made full time after their appearence at the wedding

You think 3 years is an adequate sentence for someone who tried to murder their own daughter and viciously beat their wife?

Going in and coming out of prison doesn't make things all gravy. In some situations it's down right stupid letting them back out, a good example of this is people who molest children, then continue to molest them when coming out of prison.

Its all well and good talking about forgiveness, but I know if anyone tried to do that to my wife and the child I love, I would certainly be baying for blood, and if i got that intense I might actually get it.
Im sorry but Lucas' current misdemeanour was an accident, he just didnt have faith for the justice system not to lock him up for 3+ years.
