Delay in detecting Signal

Currently in the middle of some serious redecorating and had to switch the power off in the lounge to remove various sockets prior to re-plastering. The HD box was powered-off for roughly 2 hours, but when we powered up again instead of the normal "searching for signal" banner, I got the dreaded "no satellite signal". Eventually after +/- 10 minutes a signal was detected and boot-up continued as normal. Would this be "normal" when a box is powered-off for an extended period or a sign of something more sinister? Tommo 004 box 2006 vintage, as yet unmodified!

No it's not normal

Could be, but it could be something quite innocuous, has there been bad weather in your area?

This was Sunday afternoon, so no, it was just a dull start clearing to sunny intervals. Box has been OK since. See what happens when I have to do the reverse and power off to refit the sockets!
