Did Leona have great personality?

I don't understand why people keep going om about Lucie not having a personality and not moving much on stage.

Correct me if I am wrong, but couldn't the same said about Leona?

The twins just dance badly and sing badly - hardly mean sthey have a great personality

When will people understand you don't have to have a great personality to be a grreat singer, some singers interviewing them is like getting blood out of a stone

agree but then leonas got one hell of voice which makes up for the "lack" of personality...like her or loathe her.

lucie may have been the better singer when compared to jedward....but is no where near leonas

You are correct about Leona, she has zero personality and her voice is just the same old whining on every song, wasnt a major fan of Lucie but ridiculous for her to lose out to Simon's new Zig & Zag act.

By the way, the twins do not have personality, they have attention deficit disorder and should be sectioned immediately to spare us any more crap on Saturday night TV.

Yeah it depends what your idea of "personality" is right? Some people think Leona's humble (btw I don't think she's shy - she wouldn't be able to perform in front of millions if she was shy - she's just a bit more reserved but totally totally lovely) personality is absolutely fine and I think she's really really nice and she's just an amazing artist to me but some interpret that as boring. Others would prefer the loud/bigmouth kinda personality (which again suits some people like Alexandra) but others would get annoyed by that and think that these "loudmouths" need to shut up lol and interpret that as cocky etc...

To be fair to Alex I think that over the last year she's toned things down a bit.

For instance.

I don't suppose for a moment that this in a serious assessment of J&E. However I wonder if you think that everyone with ADD should be sectioned? It isn't a mental illness.

I never took to Leona. Her style isn't my thing and there was nothing about her to like or dislike. That's the year I stopped watching until Danyl and Jamie gave me a reason to follow it again this year.

She has no personality to speak of and doesn't need it to be successful, as has been shown.

My kids are really into it this year and we've had fun with me youtubing some of the older acts, good and and bad for them to see. My 12 year old wants to know if the twins are in based on entertainment, why the chicken factory, barbie girl bloke didn't get through, as he was fantastic!

The funny thing about Leona's personality is that in foreign interviews she doesn't come off as reserved (she's still no hyperactive Alexandra type) but she always seems very relaxed and funny and more confident. Its almost as though because Leona came across very shy on X Factor and now has a 'no personality' tag to her name the question aimed at her are bland boring questions...like 'what is it like working with Simon Cowell...is he mean?', 'are you watching X Factor?' etc etc.

Also the fact that she doesn't drink, love animal, doesn't swear etc have been used by the media to paint her as an innocent bore...but just the other day Steve Jones asked Beyonce what wild things/bad habits does she have and at first she said there was nothing bad like that and even dexcribed herself as 'boring' then later said her one bad habit was that occasionally (since playing Etta James) she'll say a curse word.

Obviously Leona isn't going to be an Amy Winehouse character or is she going to have an over the top personality, (she is much more laid back than I origionally thought she was) but she has a reputation in this country which will be diffcult to change...but hey. She is more confident now than she's been in the past, but it seems to come accross better in her overseas interviews than it does here.

Leona is unique in the sense that she is 'normal'. I wasn't a big fan, but I did start to like her more and more as her songs got better.

She doesn't come across as outgoing, just someone that loves what she is doing.

And I can't fault that.

Leona had an incredible voice which Lucie does not. I dont think Leona had a big personality but nobody could deny she was an amazing talent.

I love Leona's personality. I think she has a quiet, inner confidence and poise and she's sweet, endearing and laid back. She's determined, hard-working and sticks to her principles/morals as well which I admire.
