Armchair Thriller type of film, PLEASE READ - HELP.

Hi all at digital spy, before i post this tv quiery i would just like to thank all the people who helped me with my last post (The Scream & scream again film 1971), very much appreciated, thank you all. But here's one that's been eluding me for a long time. I sat down yesterday to watch an episode of the 1970's chiller "Armchair thriller". I thought i'd finally found the film i saw a snippet of as a youngster, it was going well but it turned out to be something else. So here goes of the description of this, that alway's stuck with me from the age of 9/10. Late 70's very early 80's, put on late one sunday night, could of been 1 hour long or longer. Could of been shown in episodes , but i feel it could have been a one off. It centre's around 4 women (i think), that could of been models or in a pop group, that meet up one night in a high rise flat. There was a large picture of the girls in their heyday on the wall. They meet for a drink & to catch up on old times (again i think). But there is a Killer on the loose & one by one the killer picks off the girls, & then de- faces the picture of the girls by either slashing it or painting a cross over each face, the girls are obviously a bit frantic, as this builds the tension. The only other scene i can remember is the Killer (who we don't see, only his feet, probably until the end, is where one of the girls is hiding in a cupboard or Lift shaft & we see the killer with yellow rubber gloves cut the wires with a pair of scissors. It's all a bit sketchy, but that's the best way i can describe it. Very much of it's time. Very much like "Brian clemens Thriller", "Armchair thriller, that sort of filming, creepy, british, probably acting a bit naff, but i need to see it again. So anyone with ANY ideas i would be most grateful, again. Many thanks for reading this - Simon (4343digipak).

This does seem very familiar, mmmmm. Have you read any synopsis for any Hammer House of Horror? There weren't that many episodes, so you could eliminate that fairly swiftly.

Its not HHOH .
Its not Brian Clemens Thriller either .
Its not HHOMAS.

Sounds very much like something that Dario Argento would make but its not one of his either.

I think it may have been a lift shaft.

This film sounds great.

Still scratching my head over this one..... Now this is a long shot, in as much as it may be totally wrong and wayyyy off the mark, but for some reason Dempsey and Makepeace came to mind

I do hope someone tracks this down- its just the kind of thing I love.
Hopefully, it will feature the likes of Shane Briant, Anouska Hempel and Martine Beswick.
