Is len losing the plot?

After watching ITT tonight Len seems to be backing Alesha over her comment to Graig and Flavia about Zoe, it made me wonder has he lost the plot by backing her up with the cruel comment to him

I like Len a a judge but this year he seems in recent weeks to be of a grouch with some of the worst dancers

is it me or is he starting to lose the plot

I'm finding his marking this series extremely erratic, which is something I've been thinking for the last 2 series

He's giving low quality dances high marks IMO

Well i guess he wants to keep his job. To be honest after watching Alesha & Ferne Cotton it is obvious she doesnt give two shites what people think of her. As she said ''i am strong, i won't let them get me down''. Sums it up really.

Perhaps he thinks it's "quantative easing," he gives a higher mark to average out the low one he sees Craig is going to give.

I think Len has already lost it !!

I don't think the travelling back and forth to the USA has done him any good.

Len's bombastic and exaggerated protestation has long irritated me.

Same thing last season: the longer it went on, the more lagged Len got and the grumpier he got.

And yes, I agree, the he 'marks up' the lower scores the CRH gives sometimes.

Perhaps when Len's contract comes up for renewal, the Beeb might like to put it to him that there's a commitment to be made, to one side of the Atlantic or the other.
If he couldn't accept that and left the show, well...

Bothered?

I think Len lost the plot several series ago. He's pickier on the good dancers, watching their footwork and marking them down if they're not quite right. When it comes to the bad dancers he's not so critical and ends up giving them higher marks. It's wrong!

I also don't like the way he had a go at Craig the other week. It was wrong. I think he takes the head judge thing too far.

Can't stand the man! He has become far too big for his boots. He isn't the star he thinks he is

Possibly he did have the plot (or at least most of it) in the first couple of series but he definitely began to lose it in series three. Now I sometimes wonder whether he's aware there's a plot at all or whether he thinks he's on a hillside somewhere watching the clouds drift slowly by...

If either Craig or Bruno had been that scathing and personal about Craig's performance, Len would have laid into them.

But he tip toes around Alesha.

I think the official line is to tiptoe round Alesha. There was no excuse for her appalling behaviour on Saturday but, of course, the BBC have to look after their own or admit they were wrong to appoint the jumped up little Madam in the first place.

She did herself no favours and may have lost quite a chunk of her fan base. She comes over as extremely arrogant which is a shame - I really liked her as a celebrity dancer but if the truth be told she certainly wasn't the best dancer to win it. I think the honours go to Mark R or Jill Halfpenny. Alesha Dixon is the BBC's blue eyed girl - but she won't be if she loses the audience through her rudeness.

Duties of Head Judge

I am at a loss to understand what constitutes someone being Head Judge apart from having the 'casting vote'.
When it comes to pulling up any other Judge for a perceived error in judgment - Bruno, this series at least, is the voice heard.
All I've ever seen Len do, apart from his outburst a week ago, is turn his head 90 degrees to the right and supposedly glare at CRH for low marks.
While I do not condone Alesha's 'endure' comment, she has not been the only one to give uncalled for comments e.g. Craig's 'Kangaroo' comment to Jo along with Bruno's raucous laughter, Bruno's 'sublime to the ridiculous' and his several slip ups in pre-watershed language.

Is part of Len's 'brief' not to rein in such behaviour or is 'Head' just an honorary title bestowed on him as respect for his age?

Can't stand Len he is irritating and predictable......and has become increasingly worse since he was head judge and had the casting vote. He thinks HE is the star of the show and ironically even with (I believe) the most knowledge /experience with dancing he is the least credible judge. But at least he has got his annual "Craig you’re so mean" outburst out the way this year early.

Used to like Len but could happily see him disappear from the show now. His marking has become ridiculous and I don't like the fact that he has the casting vote.

It says it all really that the only judge I have any real respect for now is Craig!

Len does seem troubled at times. Sad because Len in a great mood is fun to see. I wasn't impressed with him backing Alesha on the Zoe remark, but it seemed he wasn't happy (what about I do not know obviously) and I don't think he was very convincing in her defence. I do feel for the judges doing Alesha's PR work on ITT when she doesn't come to the show to speak for herself. No doubt she's too busy with other commitments to speak on the telephone.

Which is just as well !!

Sounds like she`s taken CRH advice when he told her to toughen up.

Tired I would say !

Dashing around between the UK and the States for weeks on end takes it out of you - adjusting to the time difference etc.,
I believe DWTS is filmed in Los Angeles - 11hr flight - no joke doing it a couple of times a week.

I did it for four weeks, shattered me and I was much younger than Len !

If Len and Bruno are doing the Transatlantic shuffle, then IMHO CRH should be head judge.

I don't really see how that follows. If Len is capable of judging at all with all the flying then he is capable of being head judge.

I wonder if perhaps rather than a 'head judge' they should all be equals and have the casting vote rotated between them.
