Moseley

A girl I'm getting on rather well with suggested I check out Moseley for our next 'date' and I can't find a thing about the nightlife/live music there Was hoping to take her to see some live jazz, big band or a smokey blues (gary moore style) kinda place.

Wondered if anyone has any first hand knowledge of the place?

The Yardbird in Birmingham is the back-up

Thanks in advance

Dunno about jazz but its a very studenty place, loads of bars, pubs and restaurants.

Patrick Kavanaghs is pretty relaxed for a few beers, just take a walk along the high street and take a look

Moseley definitely isn't what it use to be, but if you're looking for a blues band then check out people like Trevor Burton or Steve Ajao.

You'll have to check if you see Steve Ajao though, sometimes he plays blues gigs and tears it up on the guitar, sometimes he plays mellow jazz gigs with his sax.

I'm not sure how often either of those guys play in Moseley any more but you'll often catch them playing around town. I've been out of that scene for a while but they both used to play at places like The Adam and Eve and The Actress and Bishop.

Just found these links. They might lead you to other cool stuff that's going on in the area...
